I've been using Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day lemon verbena candles for years in our bathroom, not just for the usual odors but to help with the general musty smell from humidity we occasionally get. I love it, the scent is pleasant and effective, mild enough it doesn't bother my allergies, and the wick burns cleanly enough that we don't get soot problems like we do with grocery store/petroleum based candles. I prefer the 4.9 oz size because it burns down well without leaving a wall of wax on the outer edge like the larger size does.The reason I deduct one star is because there is (as everyone else has mentioned) a ton of wax left over at the end, unburned and unused, plus you don't get a 25 hour burn time. We use these about 1 hr per day and they last 14-18 days, so approximately 16 hours. As for the unused wax at the bottom, I save up about five or six jars and then make my own new candle with the wax and some low-smoke wicks bought at a craft shop. Instructions are easy to find online. These are kind of pricey for what you get, so I don't feel badly for reusing all that leftover wax to get an "extra" candle.Also, as of right now Amazon lists this as having paraffin, but the candle ingredients on the wax are a mix of soy and corn, not paraffin.

Love the smell and the soft, fairly even burn but for what these candles cost, I'm not impressed. I love Mrs. Meyer's products, and this is no exception, however, I don't really think it's a good price point for what you get. It's smaller candle so it doesn't last long. I love candles and purchased two of these because they were being offered at a discounted special; otherwise, I'm not sure that I'd buy them. Since I do love candles, especially soy and soy blend, I do tend to purchase larger candles. But, as I will say again, I do LOVE the scent! It's fresh, clean, and light and it lingers so it is pleasant. If you like smaller candles out don't burn them often, this is a great item for you! I recommend for the scent and the brand, but not for price or lasting.

These are the best soy candles I have found on Amazon. The scent easily fills a good-sized room. The candles burn perfectly and cleanly. I love the natural, non-food scents. The lemon verbena one I am currently burning has a burn time - so far - of 20 hours. I am sure it will reach the stated 25 hours. This is for the 4.9 ounce candle. I have no problems with the wicks. Wasted wax has never been an issue. I have seen warnings on some candles to stop use after there is only 1/4 inch of wax left. The bottom of the container gets too hot at this point and cause damage. Made in Racine, Wisconsin. A total winner for my needs.

I recently decided to search for home scent options, since my aromatherapy diffuser finally broke and the 3 I have tried since all proved highly unsatisfactory. I was happy to see Mrs. Meyer's candles because I like the non-chemical, naturalness of all the products. I feel like I could eat directly off the counter I have cleaned with their cleaner. I ordered one each of basil and lemon. Basil is the scent I get for both dish detergent and the all-purpose concentrated cleaner which I have liked and used for a couple years now. I will say this: they are kind of small but the wax is SOLID; that's why it is longer lasting than a typical candle. I live in the hottest part of the US, and it was recently 110 when the first one, basil, was left on the front patio. The heat was intense and the package in indirect sunlight would have melted nay other cheap candle but not so Mrs. Meyer;s formulation. "Brownie points." But also upon arrival the basil had NO SCENT at all, unless you want to count a very mild scent reminiscent of "sterno" when lit, and only detectable when I put my nose right up close. Neighbor said "neigh" or is it "nay" to smelling anything herbal at all. She likes the smell of my counter top cleaner, so she knows what we were expecting to find. I doubt this "loss" of scent was due to being in the heat before opening, as if the aromatic oils were somehow evaporated as my neighbor suggested. It was returned, thanks Prime. The lemon scented candle came a couple days later and upon opening I could definitely smell a lemon-like fragrance. And, now as I sit, it is definitely filling the room with scent even within an hour's time. Unfortunately, to my nose, it is the lemon scent of furniture polish not lemons. I wonder how the other scents might do? I have tried and rejected Geranium dish soap for its smell. I wonder if these are really true essential oils, or if our noses have become so used to fake smells we think they are real and the real scents seem bad? I may try lavender; I got also the Mrs. Meyer's room spray in lavender so time will tell on that.

Use for home freshner

I love everything about this candle. There not as expensive as other brands which is nice. They last a long time and there smell is Devine. Its not too over powering where you fell like you stepped into a Yankee candle store but the house smells fresh and clean like you spent hours cleaning the floors. So far I have only tired the one scent of Lemon but hope to try the others very soon.

The smell on this is a bit more on the subtle side, but if you're into candles that aren't too strong, then that can be a great thing. I prefer stronger smelling candles [like bath and body works], so this wasn't my preference. Yet, given the price, this candle is a great value.

I burned it fora couple days in a freshly painted guest room to cancel out the paint smell., it worked pretty well. It burned nicely - even and long. Pleasant scent, not overpowering though would’ve liked it more lemony.

There is still about 2-3 centimeters of wax left in the candle, but the wick is completely gone already. Such a disappointment specially for the price of these candles that you can not actually burn the candle down all the way. Fully regret buying this and wish I had returned it in the first place. The scent is nice, but not nice enough to cover the foul stench of wasted money

I bought this candle for my bathroom after my air freshener that I had in there ran out, even before lighting this candle smells AMAZING! The scent has lasted through a few burns now without fading. The presentation is nothing special but the quality of the candle itself more than makes up for it.

Didnt like that 20% was lost at the bottom. Primarily it appears it’s because of the wick device has a metal piece that doesn’t burn 1/2” from bottom. But I did a workaround when I put 2 candles below it, warmed it to liquid state and poured it into another candle. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Burned fingers a little but got the job done. (Don’t try this at home without oven mit ). 🤦🏼‍♂️🙄. On 2nd thought hot water surrounding would have done the same thing. ... Well next time - hindsight 20/20.

I live the scent of the cleaning spray so I bought this and it is just as fresh BUT the scent throw is quite weak. I can only smell it if up close and I have a very good sense of smell. That being said, this thing has longevity! I burned it for several hours and it barely burned down at all! So if you're looking to use it in a smaller space or will have it near you, I recommend it.
