La Megara Mechouia Salad, Grilled Pepper Spread, 7.5 oz Glass Jar, Spicy and Vegan, Only Natural Ingredients, Non-GMO

This reminds me of the original hot pepper relish that Trader Joe's used to sell. They discontinued it and replaced it with a similar relish that is nowhere near as good. This pepper relish is perfect. It's made with Hot Peppers, Tomatoes, Sunflower Oil, Olive oil, Garlic, Salt, Coriander, and Caraway. The main ingredients are in hearty pieces, not all mushed up. My guys like this on top of cream cheese on Triscuits or some other crunchy cracker. I wish it came in a larger size jar.

I could tell as soon as I opened the envelope that it smells great. The problem is, I shouldn't have been able to smell it at all at that point, but the seal was broken, hence the smell. The "button" on top of the list popped in and out freely and some juice had leaked out as well. Item is not returnable, so in the trash it goes. Saw one review and they had an issue with the lid as well, but I was hoping it was a one-off sort if thing. So fair warning, if you're thinking about purchasing this, don't be surprised if you get a dud. If this is a new product, maybe hold off until they get it together and can figure out how to safely package and ship.

The spread is not exactly spicy, it is very garlicy. It has very strong garlic flavor which adds to spiciness, but it is not as hot as hot peppers, it is different. It is kind of a chunky spread. It is very good on homemade bread. It comes with a plastic sleeve around the lid, and wrapped in bubble wrap for protection. Mine came in perfect shape. Expiration date was marked two years from now.

Received with the jar open. What a mess in my mail box. Could not consumer it since it was not refrigerated, smelled good though. Very sad.

The jar was busted all over the other items in the box. And it is not eligible for return, so I can not make a claim for damages?!?
