Great substrate for True Red Tail Boa
I specifically used this substrate for my imported 1 year old Suriname True Red Tail because they tend to live deep in the Amazon rainforest where it’s consistently damp, warm, with high humidity (82 degree avg, 90 degree hotspot, 78 degree cool spot, 70-80% humidity, 60% at minimum ). This substrate definitely helps keep those parameters consistent and I can tell my red tail has been more active, he was an import so replicating his previous environment was very crucial. I combined this substrate with oak leaves/bio shot and it’s been great. P.S i also use a drainage layer of leca, with an automatic mister and it’s worked better than using coco chunks as a substrate. Also it took me about a week for the parameters to stabilize when first using this substrate so I had to be patient at first.

Just as advertised. Will see how well it works soon enough.

Wayyy overpriced for what it is!
Very bland mix. Hardly any charcoal or tree fern or bark. It's basically just coco coir. Shipping is very pricy and the product is overpriced. Combine that and this thing was a waste of money. Just get Josh's Frogs ABG mix. Far better ingredients for plants and animals alike. I have a Tegu, 2 blue tongue skinks, 6 crested geckos and many many dart frogs. This stuff hardly covered any ground compared to if I had just bought a bunch of abg mix bags elsewhere. Heck even zoomed has better ingredients in their mix than this. Again, it is just coco coir. Maybe 5% of it is charcoal and repti-bark chunks.
