Exactly what I was looking to add to my first aid kit.
Full disclosure.....I bought this tool set to use on people LOL. I was putting together a first aid kit for backpacking and one of the items I was looking for was a good set of simple tweezers. They can be helpful for lots of stuff from ticks to splinters to tying off a suture. I was getting discouraged because all the tweezers for people seem to have some gimmick like a light or a magnifying glass but the core set of tweezers are garbage. Then somehow this set came up in an Amazon search. It said it's for veterinary use. Huh! The tweezers looked really good with a pointed tip at one end and an angled squared off tip at the other end. The tick tool was interesting. Ticks are a fact of life in the wilderness of the northeast. Who cares if it's for pets, I'm an animal too. What you get is a simple, really nice quality stainless steel double ended tweezer along with a forked tick removal tool in a little plastic pouch. The price is really reasonable. These tools now reside in my First Aid kit. Highly recommended for people and pets.

This is the best tick remover set I've found, and I've tried a few.
I got this a few months ago after my dog got a tick, then didn't need to use it until about three weeks ago. I live in southern Oregon and we have tons of deer wandering through the neighborhood. Needless to say, once it warmed up a little this spring, the grass started to grow, and my little terrier, who has legs that are about three inches long, ended up with three ticks in a row.The first tick was pretty big, and it was very easy to just slide it right out. The second two didn't have much of a chance, and were very small. I ended up using the sharply pointed tweezers, which are very helpful. I had tried using regular tweezers before, and that's really difficult. It took me a long time to find something that works to get ticks off a little more easily. Glad I found these.

effective/easy to use
If you are bitten by a tick you know that first 24 hr is important. It is important because a safe and correct way to remove the tick virtually eliminates the risk of erythema marginatum that is the sign of first stage Lyme disease. Believe me most of the Urgent cared do not have the proper instrument to remove the tick and some of the providers are not familiar how to remove the tick. If you live in area that ticks are rampant or you are avid fisherman or other out door activities you must buy this instrument and carry it with you. The treatment of Lyme disease is way more expensive

quick, easy, clean
What a great tool. Everything I need in one place to remove ticks and we find plenty of them here in Tennessee. I use this on my pets and family. I did cut one tick in half with these, but I am blaming that on operator error and it was a big tick. I have used this tool more than a dozen times and it has done its job well.

Great for hunting dog
Great product. I have a bird dog that comes back from the field with ticks almost every weekend during hunting season. I always struggled pulling embedded ticks out with tweezers. Risked not getting the entire tick, squeezing fluid back into the dog, and pulling out hair. Almost every tick I pulled left a sore/scab on the dog. Using this tick remover is so much easier and more effective. Just slide it under the tick and it pops right out. Gets the entire thing with no trauma to the dog. 100% recommend this product.

Might work for larger ticks
This might work better on larger ticks. My dog had 3 very flat, very tiny ticks and and each one broke at the head. The metal on this was a little too thick. We’ve dealt with larger ticks before and a different device with no problem.

And The Tick Was Gone
I own a Standard Poodle that picked up a deer tick in our back yard. With its close growing coat it has, in the past, been very difficult to remove the occasional tick. The V shaped tool made the job a lot easier and helped me remove the tick head and all. It was still alive when I disposed of it. I am very pleased with the set and the price was very good. Thank you!

tick and flea remover tool set
1st of all these are tools made out of metal. they are etched on the handle for better gripping and control. got this for our 2 labs. we went to our property in Montana which is butted up to a national forest....so tick city. we usually have to remove the ticks with alcohol, digging, needles and tweezers and it takes about a 1/2 hr to 45 minutes per dog to go all over them. so the 1st time i used these i was going over them and you see the tick starting to burro itself into the skin. wellllllllllllll, using the V tool 1st and the tick pops right out. then take the tweezers, ( with a double style pincher-( a sharper pincher to get into the skin easier and a broader flat style to pick the tick off the top of the skin)and pluck the tick off. each dog took about 15 minutes each. a lot faster with these tools. i would suspect that these tools can be used on any animal that contacts ticks or fleas. i like the design, ease of use, size, fits the hands very well, made out of metal which will last a life time and the price.
