Howard Miller Savannah Botanical VII Wall Clock 620-440 – Antique Brass Pendulum, Brass Finished Bezel, Quartz Movement, Automatically Adjust to Daylight Savings

First of all, I do like this clock, but there is definitely room for improvement:1) I agree with the other reviewers about the quality of this clock--it has especially poor plastic construction around the battery housing (be extra careful not to snap either of the 2 protruding pegs/tabs that rest against the wall freeing the pendulum arm to swing--they are VERY easy to break).2) The frame looks OK, but it's also made of plastic.3) I think I would have preferred a glass cover over the front to protect the hands & for cleaning purposes.4) The price seems inflated for the quality of this clock.I do like the following:1) Aesthetically pleasing, and the over-all design of the clock is just what I was looking for.2) It looks very nice on the wall.3) The programming and automatic adjustment to daylight savings time feature is a plus.4) It keeps very good time.So when all's said and done, it's worth keeping & am hoping it maintains it's precise timekeeping for some time to come.

I love the face of the clock that's the good part. For the price over a !00.00 for this clock isn't worth it. Very cheaply made. Very hard to set but liked the fact it has Daylight savings on it. My clock works and keeps time but the pendulum doesn't swing. I kept it cause it's in a hard place to reach. Hope you lower the price of this item. Not worth the price you are selling it for.

5/2/14 - I have to update this review. I am very disappointed to say the pendulum stopped working and it does NOT keep good time. It runs slow. I am now looking to find another clock that will hopefully keep the correct time.I bought this style and brand because I wanted this look and the reliability of Howard Miller. So far this clock is keeping perfect time. It is a little large for what I wanted but it still looks very good. I read some of the other reviews where others felt it looked cheap without the glass cover and the material was plastic, maybe they bought another model? Mine looks like metal and I like it without the glass. And who is going to get that close to the clock to see all this stuff? The pendulum is a nice feature. I love the fact it keeps track of daylight savings time changes, that is always a pain to update every clock in the house.

I was concerned about ordering this because of some negative reviews, but I'm glad I decided to order it.The clock is really beautiful. It works great - has an auto feature that sets the time so it will change for DLST on its on. The pendulum swings nicely. The clock is easy to read and truly a decorative piece to take notice of. Very happy with my purchase.

Bought the Howard Miller Savannah Botanical VII wall clock expecting a clock that I would want to have for years to come. I was very disappointed with the overall clock. The face was very pretty and looked like the picture. The frame around the clock face was a dull gold and I thought looked very cheap and like plastic. Also, the clock was very light weight and frame depth was very thin. I thought the lack of depth made the clock appear of a cheap quality. In my opinion, I could buy a clock that had more substance and looked more expensive, for about $40-$60 at a local retailer. It's too bad that Howard Miller did not pay more attention the the rest of the clack as they did the face. Clock very overpriced for what you get.

I use the clock in my counseling office where it constantly evokes compliments. My only disappointment was with the amount of plastic that has been used in its manufacture. It replaced a more weighty floral pendulum clock I had enjoyed for years. However, the upside is that it is less heavy on the hook. It keeps excellent time!

I absolutely adore the style of this clock but it doesn't matter how many times I change the batteries, it will only keep time for about an hr. very disappointing for a Howard Miller clock.

I purchased this clock in 2011 for my kitchen. I had read all the information about the face and body of the clock being plastic but that was fine by me. If the manufacturing is artful enough to make plastic look beautiful, I don't care as plastic keeps costs down. The thing kept time, looked great so I was happy. The other day I noticed it had stopped so I figured it just needed a new battery. I purchased brand new batteries, got up on a ladder to get the clock, changed them out but the clock will not run. It has died on me after two years of use. That's ridiculous! I used to think Howard Miller made superior products. Guess not. Stay away from this clock manufacturer, their time pieces quit before their time!
