Smile's PRID Drawing Salve by Hyland's, Relief of Topical Pain and Skin Irritations, 18 grams

This saved me! It may save you so read my full review! (WARNING VERY GROSS, BUT USEFUL INFO)So last week\, March 7th or so I had an ingrown hair on my inner thigh. I figured it's no big deal, I have had these before. As a hairy guy that grooms I tend to get them. But this one was not going away. By last Saturday, the 10th, it was getting bigger and bigger and since it was my inner thigh, walking and moving was getting more difficult. I had applied neosporin,which tends to do the trick, it was doing nothing! It was now the size of a golf ball. It looked like some inserted a golf ball under my skin. No home remedies or anything was working. It was beginning to harden and was not getting better.I was reading that I would have to go to the hospital and have it lanced and removed... this only a week before my bday, where I was doing a pub crawl on St. Pattys... so tons of walking. I was thinking I would have to cancel my bday this year! While perusing online I saw an ad for prid and someone who had a similar experience. They said within a few hours the wound opened and all the puss and blood poured out... eww I know.. but keep reading. I thought it was too good to be true, So i came on amazon and found verified reviews. Luckily, it was available on Prime and I got with 1 day shipping!Monday it arrives and I wash the now even bigger ingrown hair/boil/whatever you wanna call it. Washing it hurt like hell, I applied the prim to a massive gauze since a regular bandage could not cover it. I hoped and prayed for the best. That nite I showered and reapplied Prim and noticed it was getting even bigger. My fear was that it simply was not working.The next day I went through my normal routine, the pain had subsided but it was awkward as hell to walk, that Nite Tuesday the 13th I was about to shower and removed the bandage... and lo and behold, (warning gross) a volcano of puss, black blood, regular blood, and God knows what else was gushing like a geyser out of my wound. It WOULD NOT STOP. I had to get paper towels just to collect it. It was pouring out like a faucet. After an hour or so of drainage the area was still sore but the boil had reduced... this was only 24 hours after using Prid. My leg was still sore and walking was a bit tough, but I showered and reapplied prid again.The next day, Wed, March the 14th, 48 hours later, the new bandage was again soaked with blood, puss, and gunk, and chunks of I don't even want to guess.. but now I i washed it, cleaned it, and was able to walk normally. Today it is March 15th, Thursday and the boil is almost 100% gone. Just a little excess gunk left, but it's negligible. It was totally worth it. This saved my week, my bday, and possibly an expensive trip to the Doctor.The salve is tiny, but so far one container seems to do the job, i reordered a 2nd one just in case, but haven't had to open it yet. Yes, the smell isn't great and the salve is very thick. Try keeping it near a heating pad to loosen it up. But the smell isn't so bad that the results aren't worth it. I wouldn't care if it smelled like death, it works! it WORKS! I was so happy that today when I applied the new bandage and saw the massive golf size ball was almost gone, I HAD to write this review. I am always going to keep this around for any future ingrown hairs. This truly was a miracle worker and i Thank God I found it! Make sure to clean the boil/area and disinfect it with rubbing alcohol, then apply the salve. Make sure to bandage it and perhaps apply a heating pad over the area to help hasten the process.Within 24 hours of using the salve, the very sore golf ball boil formed a head and erupted. Within 48 hours I could walk normally again, 36 hours later it was almost completely gone. I will always keep this on hand.For anyone who has had something similar to this happen to them, you will need this around. Hope this review helps!!

Prid is a great homeopathic remedy. I've used it over the years for a variety of things (drawing out deep splinters, cysts, etc). This time I ordered it to help treat my male kitten/cat who is in heat and got beat up looking for a lady or a fight. His neutering appt was cancelled the day previous to our statewide lockdown. I'd kept him inside, dealing with constant spraying and little sleep from his constant crying for a month previously, as I didn't want him harassing my neighbor's fixed female who became more my cat than theirs over the years lol but keeps her distance now, sadly. She doesn't like other cats too much, especially little sexually frustrated toms. After another 6 weeks post-lockdown, he escaped and was, of course, ignoring my calls, I think he went pretty far, he was do amped to get out there. I finally saw him running from the woods, he came in panting, with a scratch on his head over his eye, the bony part, so not too worrisome, under his eye, his neck and a few elsewhere. I cleaned them up with sea-salt solution and picked up some polysporin (polymyxin B/bacitracin zinc are safe for cats, often used as Rx vet treatments for the eyes) and looked for Prid to draw out anything that could become a puncture wound (not pleasant to deal with), but they didn't have it, so picked up some icthalmmol 20% (also a drawing salve), and some Similasan homeopathic eye drops. They have worked for me and other cats previously, but only wasted most the bottle as he refused them enthusiastically any time I tried to apply them- his claws are registered weapons.By the evening, his eye was swollen, his upper lid must have been nicked although it can't be seen. In the next few days, it was oozing some thin pus and when I managed to open up his upper eyelid, saw his third eyelid was completely red and swollen, covering much of his cornea. I was very freaked out because it looked so terrible and was ready to take him to the emergency vet (though my pocketbook wasn't ready).The Prid arrived, so I gave it until the next day before the ER. I added a small amount of boric acid (safe in a proper dilution for cat's eyes) to my sea-salt solution, using warm compresses as long as he would allow, followed by the Prid. He seemed to tolerate this a lot more than the icthalmmol and polysporin, which he would rub and lick off immediately. He actually seemed soothed by our sessions. I was doing this every few hours, and in 24 hours I already saw a big difference, the third eyelid had retracted a lot in a very short amount of time.After approx 1.5 weeks, it is almost completely retracted and I am relieved. Since the vet clinic gets state funds, they prob won't open until after June 5th, bc they extended the lockdown. He is going to drive me nuts until then, but I am watching him like a hawk so I don't have to patch him up again. An unknown feral tom showed up to eat food I leave out for my neighbor's cat and take a nap on a lounger. My little guy was going nuts, I have a feeling it was this dude he fought with it. He seems people friendly enough, was sitting right by the door looking to come in, but looks very raggedy and tough. Hopefully, my guy can still go outside post-neuter and back down from fights instead of acting the fool he's become since puberty.Overall the Prid worked wonderfully, much better than the straight icthalmmol and polysporin. It contains homeopathic amounts of icthalmmol (much, much less than the 20% salve), but also several other homeopathic herbs, including soothing ones like arnica and calendula). I was also giving him crushed arnica pellets in his food as well as some probiotics and a little cod oil to boost his immune system. Arnica, both the salve and pellets are great for human and animal healing. The only possible side-effect of the Prid was that he lost a lot of the fur around his eyes/head. Some of it was matted into the scratches and would have come out anyway, but I think the Prid drew more out in the whole area. It will almost definitely grow back in the unscratched places, the scratched parts may not completely, but they weren't very deep and likely will. The invisible nick to the eyelid was the real problem and I believe the Prid prevented it from infecting and healed it much more quickly.It would be a great thing to keep in your first aid kit, to put on any scratches or superficial bites immediately, from animals and insects, mosquitoes and ticks especially!
