Quick and helpful guide for anyone in the workforce or getting ready to enter it!
The Essentials of Business Etiquette: How to Greet, Eat, and Tweet Your Way to Success by Barbara Pachter is the book to read for anyone getting ready to enter the workforce and current business professionals alike. This book is your one-stop-shop for customs, rules, manners, and proper behavior in the business world. Barbara has spent decades teaching business etiquette and communication. She leads seminars, does one-on-one coaching, and has written multiple books on the topic. This book explains simple techniques to progress in the workplace and navigate today's business world. Pachter covers topics from introductions, body language, dining, social media, and interviews. It's a compelling and quick read, and what makes it so impactful are the concise chapters that hit directly on the information needed. I particularly enjoyed the real-life stories that helped drive home points. Since the book was published in 2013, I was worried that it wouldn't be relevant today, but I was wrong. She writes in a manner that bridges the time gap, and her advice will remain applicable for years to come--maybe with minor tweaks as needed due to ever-changing social media platforms. I learned a lot that I will be able to apply immediately. The best part is how the book is formatted for easy future use. Pachter broke down each topic into a chapter, and she also included easy links to other related chapters within the reading to make finding any information you need a breeze! This is the perfect book for anyone, whether they are getting ready to enter the workforce, are currently employed, or returning to the job market after taking a break. I strongly recommend this book as your go-to pocket reference for business etiquette and give it a 5 out of 5-star rating.

Great book for college students
If you are a college student, preparing for an interview or presentation, or just trying to brush up on business norms, this is the book for you. Author Barbra Pachter gives 101 tips about different aspects of business such as how to dress and appropriate email responses. This book was such an easy read. With the chapters being only a few pages, I was able to squeeze in some reading in my busy schedule. I am a senior in college, and I learned so much. I would recommend this book to people getting ready to enter the business world, and to those already in it!

I really enjoyed this book and it taught me many essential tips ...
I really enjoyed this book and it taught me many essential tips for business etiquette. Barbara Pachter, a business etiquette and communications speaker, goes over several business etiquette rules and techniques to use in the real world. My favorite thing about this book is she gives her real life experiences and stories throughout the book, so your able to see that the things you think are silly really do happen in real life. She gives tips ranging from how to introduce yourself to how to dine at a formal event. She also adds a few sections that are tips you wouldn't find in an older business etiquette book, such as tips dealing with social media. I would give this book a 5/5 and highly recommend it to anyone entering or already in the business field.

It was an easy ready and provided quick/clear guidelines for professional etiquette
It was very informative and practical, it was interesting to read about both traditional and more modern forms of etiquette. I thought the book was a surprisingly easy read, I believe this makes it useful to a broader audience. It provided quite clear guidelines and tips that can help many readers make a positive impression and build strong professional relationships. The book also emphasizes the importance of non-verbal cues, such as body language and eye contact, as well as effective communication in various settings, including face-to-face interactions and digital platforms.Overall, "The Essentials of Business Etiquette" by Barbara Pachter is, although a very simple set of guidelines, nonetheless a valuable resource for professionals seeking to enhance their image and interpersonal skills. It offers practical advice and guidance that can help its readers navigate various situations with confidence, which contributes to their success in the business world.

the updated answer to FOQ's about social media
This is a must have book for anyone who is currently involved in social media as a tool for business interaction (and who isn't?) Its unique coverage of common business situations and POINTS TO PONDER scattered throughout several chapters are also applicable to social situations, such as "I'd like you to meet ...Er...Um" and who hasn't forgotten another individual's name? Her coverage of proper etiquette when utilizing technology is outstandingly practical and easy to remember in 101 brief but comprehensively well-organized chapters. A great book for everyone! Great book
This is a well organized, well written book on this subject. Several years ago, I participated in the local School-Business Partnership, and I wish I'd had this book for our graduates' breakfasts. Each year, we'd host a breakfast for the graduates and let them practice their "soft" skills on us. We'd discuss a lot of what is covered in this book. It would be a great hand-out for those entering the job market for the first time, but also offers a good refresher course for those who have been in the job market for a long time.

There are some good examples about etiquette and how to handle business situations
Business Etiquette is an ok book. There are some good examples about etiquette and how to handle business situations. But there are some chapters and notes that are, in the attempt of being enjoyable and amusing, quite silly.

Love it!
Barbara Pachter and Denise Cowie have introduced their knowledge of etiquette in a fun, easy to read and understand format. The most interesting section to me is the Tweet Etiquette, I guess it's because some of it is relatively new to me. I love the way many of the topics are introduced and the book covers a very wide range of topics. Section One is Greet and has Establishing rapport as Part One, which is further broken down into 21 subheadings including 'Starbucks is my office! Working remotely and more. Part 2 is Maintaining A Professional Image with 20 subheadings which includes 'Are you really going to wear that? Section II is Eat with 16 subheadings, Section III Tweet with 18 subtitles and lastly Section IV on Career. It's fun being able to jump around to read the topics that appeal to me at a particular time. I'm glad I don't have to read it in sequence to follow. Excellent effort!!!

Good book to learn US culture
Though, I have not read it completely however I like it. It actually improves the mistakes of US people as well. The best part is that Barbara Pachter used all real life situations (real questions from audience) to make you understand the right etiquette for a situation.
