The "T" is for Tough.
I bought this 30 Lb XT specifically to make Leaders for salt water fishing. Dickinson Bay has a lot of Oyster Beds, and I want something that is more Abrasion Resistant than FluroCarbon, Braid, or regular Mono. The SaltStrong website has some great videos comparing the abrasion resistance of various lines, especially Mono VS FluoroCarbon. It was quite a surprise to me, and prompted me to buy this XT for leaders.

Best Utralight Mono
I have used Berkeley Trilene XT 4lb test for over 30 years now and it's toughness never disappoints. It will stand up to weed abrasiveness where other monofilament will break. Unfortunately as I have aged significantly the clear line tends to disappear from my degraded vision. Will have to use a colored version from now on. Still the best line for my ultralight spinning outfit.
