Beast Boy Loves Raven

IM IN LOVE
I thought this book was so cute!! Beast boy and raven meet and their pairing is just beautiful! The characters are kept from both the previous books and the original comics which gives long time fans like me enormous amounts of happiness! Also in this boom we’re introduced to Damian, one of Bruce’s children (his actual child). It’s a great peek into the next book and we’re even given a little hint to Starfire. :)

For Beast Boy/Raven Shippers (Including Myself!), This Is The Holy Grail
Having done a DC graphic novel for the Teen Titans Raven (2019) and Beast Boy (2020) each - as if they were reimagined as normal teenagers - the next logical choice for the author Kami Garcia and artist Gabriel Picolo would be to do one on the other Titans, either Robin (any one of them), Cyborg or Starfire. Instead, they decide to do one where the two characters crossed path for this brilliant book, where Raven & Beast Boy slowly admits having feelings for each other.Since 2003-4, Raven & Beast Boy have become one of the more notable shippings to the Teen Titans fandom, thanks to the 'will-they-or-won't-they' vibe in the Cartoon Network TV series (2003-2006), which I HOPE will one day get a REVIVAL (none of that GODAWFUL TEEN TITANS GO! shlock), and actually having a relationship in the run of comics from 2003 to 2011. Of course, the question is why? Didn't Beast Boy had a thing for Terra?Well, that's a good question that can be answered. Even though both Raven & Beast Boy may seem different in personality, they share several things: both have had unhappy childhoods, they had their hearts broke (In the Raven graphic novel, Raven was angry over the boy she thought cared for her), and are considered outsiders to the rest of the world. Plus, when it comes to their emotions or powers, Raven needs to be there for Beast Boy to keep the beast within, while he needs to be there for her to show that not all is doom and gloom. It was so much joy getting to read BEAST BOY LOVES RAVEN, and watching these two characters going from being friends to ultimately in love, as they attempt to learn more about the powers that they have from the person who might the answers: Slade Wilson (uh-oh!). The current Robin, Damian Wayne, also appears in this. He's a rather divisive characters in the DC fandom, but here, he is tolerable and doesn't totally steal the spotlight from the main two characters.Earlier this year, DC released another graphic novel, I AM NOT STARFIRE, which has gone down in flames as one of the worst things that DC Comics has unleashed in recent years. There is a very simple reason why BEAST BOY LOVES RAVEN succeeded and I AM NOT STARFIRE didn't: Kami Garcia & Gabriel Picolo absolutely love Teen Titans and wanted to maintain the spirit of the comics in the graphic novels, Mariko Tamaki, the author I AM NOT STARFIRE, doesn't show much gratitude for the Titans characters.BEAST BOY LOVES RAVEN successfully combines action that people enjoy about the DC comics with the heartwarming and often cute romance of our two characters. Once again, Garcia & Picolo have done a wonderful job, and every person who ship these two Titans should definitely add this to their bookshelves. You won't regret it!Reviewer: Ben David W

Phenomenal
Phenomenal. I loved it so much. Beast Boy and Raven are so sweet together, im so glad Max went to look after Raven. Robin seems really cool too so can’t wait to read his book! Love that Max and Robin are having a little romance too!! Once again, great representation including Black; POC, Disability - service dog, wheelchair; Muslim - Hijabi.TW/CW - Parental death (past, mentioned); Sexualising a minor (brief); Violence; Knife; Kidnapping; Non consensual drugging; Trafficking (mentioned); Needles (syringes); Corpses; Demons; Human testing (past, mentioned); Medical content

The romantic meet up we've all been waiting for
I preordered this book as soon as I could and I have been so excited! And it did not disappoint!Following on from the separate stories of Raven and Beast this comic brings them together, and develops their relationship in a really beautiful way, from strangers to friends to something seeing their dynamic grow throughout the comic was absolutely amazing. These are two of my favourite Titans and, no spoilers, I screamed on the last page! The art is the usual amazing breathtaking work we know of Gabriel Picolo and the story by Kami Garcia was fantastic.Part YA romance part titans action with a new character introducted that I was not expecting (but another favourite so very very welcome)Some scene it this comic were just so beautiful, to see the way Raven and Gar grew to tenderly care and look after one after had me reading pages twice over just to enjoy it all again.I CANNOT wait for the next installment in this series. Also an absolutely physically beautiful comic.

Togetherness
A very enjoyable comic. I know it is for younger readers but I did enjoy it. It is very obvious both Kami and Gabriel really love these characters. I wanted to give this 4.5 stars ot is just the pace of the story being a bit too slow that I put it to 4.Continuing from both their separate books. I am glad the kept the art work from Beast Boy's book as I did prefer it slightly.Dispite not liking the slow pace I do understand what is being done from a character development point of view. I also like that all the characters are taking small steps to use their powers and or abilities. The book finishes with a preview of the upcoming Constantine: Distorted Illusions book and a page preview of another character who made his debut in this book. A slow burn to see the team forming.

Exactly What I expected
Good writing, very pretty art with a cosy style that stays pretty consistent throughout. A little short but still good worth.

Teen titans is back!!!
I'm a long time fan of the artist, Gabriel Picolo, for his reimaginations of the Teen Titans! I am so excited for this collaboration with Kami Garcia and I can only hope they keep collaborating to keep the Teen Titans I remember, alive (I'm thinking the original Teen Titans on Cartoon Network!). The next one will be Robin's book and soon I hope Starfire and Cyborg! Please support them.
