Worth a try
I'm pleased with the quality and design. I got this gel model at the same time as a CT version. The gel holds much more water, so though it's heavier it lasts a lot longer before it dries out. However it's my impression that this CT model feels a little cooler. I also soaked my t-shirt in water. That provides a lot more cooling, but doesn't last as long as the headbands. Some people give bad reviews to these, I would say they will never replace retreating to an air conditioned room, but they do take the edge off a hot day.

My dog loves it! (and looks adorable wearing it!)
I ordered this for my dog, for when we are at our farm in the weekends. She’s a high maintenance Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who hates being wet or dirty or HOT! Yet she’s a country girl who LOVES the outdoors, lol. I’ve been using the Frogg Toggs brand for humans, which I cut into strips to wrap inside her collar. Worked great except when it comes to figuring out which one is hers, hubby’s, or mine after a long hot day of dirty grimy farming! So I found this nifty bandana on Amazon and figured for the price what the heck? Glad I did, as not only does she look darling wearing it, it actually stays put and works well. She seems to like it! Although I wasn’t impressed with the absorbency of the blue material sewn inside the bandana, plus it doesn’t stay as cold for as long as the Frogg Toggs do, I put hers in a ziploc baggy wet overnight, and throughout the day I’d re-wet it several times with iced bottled water from our cooler. The extra bandana material on the tails of the scarf are perfect length for when I tie it back on her neck I tuck the flaps inward to the pinks of her inner ears, giving her instant cooling relief! I can tell she loves it by the “squinty eyes” grin she gives me as I’m pressing the cold wrap on her skin. Saying “thank you momma!” Haha!

We like these compared to regular bandanas to keep sweat out of eyes.
Love these! Started with one and have since bought 2 more. They do last only about an hour of evaporate cooling in the Phoenix heat which decent considering what to expect in over 100 degree heat. That is not the only use of these though. What my husband and I really like is how lightweight they are compared to wearing an actual bandana. We never fold up a bandana for a headband because it feels too thick, beyond having a small amount of fabric for tying. This has ample length for tying. Lastly the absorption for sweat far outweighs a regular bandana too. They tend to feel hotter too whereas this stays cooler. My husband swears his stays cooler longer. We think it is because he sweats more to keep it wet. These are over-all perfect and our favorite for keeping sweat out of your eyes during hiking and exercise.Have bought 3 and would buy again.

Disappointed
It's cool when you first wet it and put it on but the sense of coolness disappears pretty quickly. Maybe if I was on a bicycle moving it would do more but it was only ok with doing yard work. I'm not sure that a regular wet bandana wouldn't do just as well.

Far Inferior IMHO
These cooling bands/scarfs work like a water cooler. Evaporation causes cooling and the more water that can be evaporated the greater the cooling capacity. This brand uses a small very thin absorbent band on the inside of the scarf as the water storage supply. It lasts about an hour and then you have to find a source of water, take it off and wet it down again and so forth. It also loses it's cooling capacity gradually through that limited hour that it works.I have been using the type for years which has double wall chambers along the band and each is filled with little super absorbent beads which soak up much more water than their size and swell up to make each compartment bulge with water being held in these beads. It also has a terri cloth lining which helps conduct heat away from your skin into the evaporative cooling of the band. They increase their weight about 10 times holding enough water to last a whole day in the heat. Then to store them you let them sit in a warm place for a couple days and the beads shrink up to where you can hardly feel them inside the band taking up no extra room. You can now fold the scarf/band into a tiny size for pocket storage. The Chills Its are far inferior to this design and they don't provide as much cooling or for as long.Another reviewer said it's no better than a basic handkerchief folded into a headband. Really a standard bandana rolled up works much better and lasts longer than this product. That sums it up.
