I am just learning to do this version of crochet, so I didn't want to spend a lot on hooks until I knew what sizes I needed. This set was a good price and had the largest hooks in it. I have used 3 of the hooks so far, and only one had a rough spot on the hook. I fixed that easily. Acrylic and bamboo yarns move easily over the hooks, but cotton takes more effort. I like that these hooks are light, but the small hooks feel like they would snap with just a little force. I am a little afraid to use them. I am satisfied with this set because it was want I wanted as a beginner, but I will upgrade individual hooks as I get better.

I am just learning how to crochet Tunisian stitch. These are great to get you started. If I decide to keep up with this stitch I would purchase better quality. These are not 100% smooth so it snags at times on the yarn.

Does the job

Doing crochet with bamboo hooks is not as smooth and easy as knitting with them. But this is a good set to get started with; to find out if you enjoy the process. BUT found the hooks to not be quite the right shape and depth to really get a good grip on the yard. Fortunately, being bamboo, it just took a skinny round little file to open that up enough to make a difference.

Besides what I mentioned in the title, they didn't sand the hook very well so sometimes it catches a little, it really needs a pencil grip or something, and the smaller ones are a bit flimsy. Other than they're pretty good...

This was a good starter set of Tunisian hooks for me. I've been crocheting for 5 years and I can crochet pretty much any pattern or technique out there, so I decided it was time to learn Tunisian crochet. I have a tiny budget, so it was either buy a cheap set of hooks or get just one nicer hook. I hadn't worked with bamboo hooks before. I like that these are lightweight and feel nice in my hand. I've noticed on a few sizes that the hooks could be a little smoother. They're not rough enough to actually catch or snag the yarn, but it doesn't slide nicely over the hook either. I'm sure a little fine sandpaper would fix it easily, but I don't have any, and they're usable enough the way they are, so I'll leave them alone for now. Overall, a pretty nice set of hooks for the price.

This is a nice set for the price. Very light weight. Perfect for arthritic hands. I do take a few seconds to file the hook with an emory board, it makes nice smooth stitching with no snags. I never worked with bamboo hooks before and I find I really like it. I would definitely buy again.

The product is very lightweight and easy to hold. The only downside I see is that it seems more challenging to manipulate through the yarn. It tends to snag the yarn.
