Marcia Resnick: Re-Visions

Underground New York legendary photographer Marcia Resnick has re-released her classic conceptual book Re-visions.A student of John Baldessari, Resnick's work is conceptual, cheeky, clever and funny!I was once given the original print of this gem by Marcia, sometimes back in the 90's. On the inside of the book, Marcia had drawn countless of eyes, looking at me when looking at the images.I must have lent it out to someone, I passionately believed would love it as much as me...and never got it back.Now I am the happy owner of the re-print of the Re-visions, and it is the centerpiece in my restaurant/bar/gallery, so people can enjoy this conceptual photographic treasure.A must in every collection of art and photography connected to: New York Underground and Conceptual Photography.

I read the original 1978 version of this book over a decade ago and fell in love with the work of this photographer and artist. When I learned of the new version of Re-visions, I had to buy it and I was not disappointed! The book is larger than the original and beautifully bound. The photographs are witty, sensual, silly, naive and beautiful, accompanied by captions that make you laugh, reminisce, wince or sigh. Ms. Resnick’s book is now a permanent fixture on my coffee table.

I had heard of Marcia Resnick's work while attending college but never could find any local supporters to truly appreciate seeing her images in person so finding this book and now owning it has made me trulyappreciate it even more.
