Product lives up to its name…… and is very quiet when you use the quiet mode!

I bought this off Amazon warehouse deals for under $100 during winter months, and they had plenty of used ones in stock at that time. I bought a "like new" one and i turned out to be brand new sealed. I'm glad that I did because the price has shot up to $300+ in the summer. The AC itself is super quiet and cold and I mean cold for a 6200 BTU AC. You can hear the noise from the outside but inside the room it's very quiet. Everything works as expected. Also it shipped in a very secure box so UPS or USPS isn't going to be able to bang it up. Great job Haier.

Admittedly I did not take scientific noise readings. Subjectively, this unit makes less than 1/3 the noise of my previous unit, and that unit made half the noise of the one before. Too early to say if this unit can keep up with summer temps, but easily handled spring spikes so far and with noise levels that require only 2-3 clicks on tv volume level to overcome that ambient noise level. Well worth the $ if only for the reduced noise level. Will update if cooling rate is less than expected but so far 5 stars.

This is my second item bought as replacement for a defective unit with grinding noise I've returned to a 3rd party seller. It's ultra quiet. No grinding noise no vibrations no buzzing noise at all. These units were listed on Haier's web as discontinued but now are listed again as available. I've researched this as it had some manufacturing issues with compressors failures on some units hence noisy or not cooling. There could be lots sold by 3rd party sellers of such. Amazon selling this unit which is listed as ESAQ406T in a separate item but that one is also the ESAQ406TZ as I've returned a faulty noisy unit to a 3rd party seller.While this doesn't have WiFi it is much easier to install than the Midea U Inverter Window Air Conditioner 8,000 BTU, The First U-Shaped AC. Comparing noise level the Midea is 42db while the Haier is 43db. The Midea is more efficient at SEER 15 vs Haier 12. Both weigh 55 pounds and the Midea is cheaper if available to ship. Amazon lists it's not in stock.But... I've watched the Midea installation video. It's a much more difficult install with more permanent holes drilling in the window to support the unit.Most important for me was noise level. I've removed the water basin plug to avoid water splashing noise on the account of less efficient unit which means cooling capacity would be lower than 6000 btu but my room is 12 by 13 so it cools it well at night no problem. I use it in eco mode that turns the fan off so I can sleep very well.Because of the simpler install I can remove the unit for the winter and close the window which is harder to do with the more permanent install of the Midea.Don't be fooled. 43db noise is way lower than typical 50-55db. I have a Sharp portable 10000 btu library quiet unit that has developed a grinding noise while still cooling cannot be used while sleeping. This unit because of the eco mode is quieter than the 39db Sharp unit noise that runs yhe fan all the time no eco mode.It's as quiet as a central AC. Myije has stopped working so I'm using separate AC units on my second floor to cool.Remember noise level is in logarithmic scale which means 3db difference is half the noise level so big difference between 43db and 50-55db.If your unit makes grinding rattling buzzing vibrating noise then it's defective.I hope this will last years. I have a portable Haier AC for 7 years now while the Sharp portable is at the end of life. Sharp doesn't make their portable library quiet AC anymore. This unit is as good and doesn't weight 90 pounds as the Sharp. Thanks Amazon for selling this model! All should buy one. I hope prices will get lower with time.UPDATE - May 2021Unfortunately my AC died won't cool anymore. It seems my previous findings on compressor failing are real as a number of others had similar experience. Dealing with the warranty process is a nightmare. A case manager is assigned when you call. If you're unlucky you'll be a captive by such a person whom will not follow up nor respond no call back. This department is called Customer Relations. There are no repairs. They are supposed to send an alternative unit shipped returning the defective one. I'm still calling daily with 2 hours waiting time over the past 3 weeks to get it replaced. It's at the "approval to drop ship" stage after a form was filed today by another rep. This is a nightmare, going through 3rd party companies supposedly to install it but they don't do that they say and other complete miscommunication. I would stay away not just from this unit but all other GE Appliances that was bought by Haier company.

I bought this on a lightning deal so I got it heavily discounted but it definitely works as it’s supposed to. Only use for my medium sized bedroom but it cools down that joint quick. This plus my rotating fan Does the trick for me! For the price I got it at, I have zero complaints! Would recommend

Cleaning is fairly easy with installation. Noise is really low . Works great for my room

This is a very effective and quiet room air conditioner. It is on the small side, so do not expect to cool a large area. However, in our relatively small apartment we have one unit in our bedroom and a second in the "office" on the other side of the living room. Running them both essentially cools the entire apartment. The unit is particularly quiet and does not disturb our sleep, even when we have to run it all night.
