Players represent investors teaming up with one of the great inventors of the time to start an electric company and lead it to success. Using the unique strengths of your inventor and other luminaries you hire into your company, players take turns claiming electric projects across the United States, making advances in key technologies, buying and selling other company’s shares in the market, and manipulating the media and popular opinion with propaganda. The player who amasses the most success from developing technologies, spreading electricity, persuading the public, and playing the stock market wins!

A historic and heavy euro style.
This is a heavy euro-style game. You take on the role of a historical inventor as you try to win the war of currents.You research new technologies for the lightbulb and/or AC/DC current. You purchase patents and build projects around the country.The rulebook is very good. The game is on the heavier side. So learning everything took a game or two to really get it down. But once you understand it the game plays pretty quick.

Tesla vs. Edison is an immensely enjoyable game -- it's satisfying and challenging, and while figuring out the game can come off as a daunting task, it's very worth it. The instructions are intuitively written and easy to use as a guide as you work your way through your first few games. I purchased the game as a Christmas present and it was a big hit all around.
