I stumbled upon this amazing supplement on accident while reading a comment on a YouTube beauty channel. It caught my eye and I did my own research and wow I was so shocked to see the great benefits of Alpha lipoic acid. I learned that there are 2 types S and R but went with R since it occurs naturally in our bodies. I finished a ala bottle (different brand) and didn't feel as though I was benefiting from the supplement and went back to do more research and read about the NA/stabilized type of ALA and I gave it a shot. I ordered 3 bottles, one for myself, mother, and brother and we are very pleased with the product. I take this product for all the great benefits, but I wasn't expecting to loose weight, happy to say I did, about 10 lbs and my skin is back to normal (before taking this product, I had bumpy texture all over my forehead and cheeks... not noticeable, unless touched). Delivery was right on time, actually it might have been a day or 2 early which is a good thing! I will definitely continue to order this product for all its great benefits. I have read a lot about alpha lipoic acid and it's highly effective antioxidant and rejuvenating effects. It is a specific for liver protection, fat burning, and good metabolism. In this particular brand, the lipoic acid is the r form which is much more bioavailable and potent than any other form. Also, it is bound to sodium which increases its effectiveness in the body even further. It doesn't have any excipients or fillers not even magnesium stearate. I like that it is 100mg. per capsule so you can take as much as you want. I have read that between 200 to 600mg. Per day can be effective. I would rather take it several times in a day than take timed release. According to an Harvard study, it is better and more natural for the body not to take time released supplements. I prefer to take 1cap. 3 times per day. I would say it definitely supports blood sugar, liver function, and metabolism and I expect to see further healing and rejuvenating effects over time. Finally, for the purity and quality of this product, it is very reasonably priced.

I bought this to hopefully help with rec,overy from shingles nerve pain. I am also taking b vitamins and benfotiamine 300, so I don't really know if this is helping, or it's the combination. I have had the problem of my hair falling out, as others mentioned, even though I'm taking biotin to mitigate thatproblem. The biotin has done a lot for my always weak nails, but doesn't help with the hair fallout. When I stop taking this, I stop losing hair.So, I guess it's buyer beware.

i use this when indulging in a meal containing a substantial amount of carbohydrates. i was initially using it right before every meal but i was losing a bit too much weight, so i lay off this stuff when the majority of my plate is protein based. when it comes to lipoic acid, always seek out the r formation and make sure it is stabilized. combine it with around 1,200 to 1,600 mg of acetyl l carnitine and 50 to 100 mg of ubiquinol for a synergistic effect. it will make your skin clearer and the whites of your eyes brighter.

I tried the racemic mixture of ALA from two different brands, and both gave me heartburn. This is the first ALA supplement that did not cause any heartburn at all. It is probably because the neutralized acid l (Na-stabilized) enables a more efficient absorption of a smaller dose (only 100 mg). The result is that I can now absorb high quality R-ALA without side effects.

The only brand of the recommended R-form of lipoic acid I found to have NO fillers. Lipoic acid requires biotin so we also take Country Life Biotin 5 mg.
