A thin, 100 percent cotton t shirt cut into small squares will accomplish exactly what Southern Bloomer patches will, but who wants to go through the trouble? Southern Bloomer patches can seem a bit pricey, but we're paying for the covenience of having perfectly cut cotton patches to clean our guns. I can't stress the importance of using cotton. The terrible, plastic-like patches that are usually provided in gun cleaning kits are useless...and make sure you buy more than you think you need. Even after 20 years of cleaning guns, I'm still surprised at how fast a bag goes. Why am I giving it 4 stars rather than 5? I just wish they were a little less expensive. Perhaps Southern Bloomer could come out with an "unbleached" or "perforated" sheets" version. A step in manufacturing could be removed, and thus a more economical product could be offered. Even if that never happens, Southern Bloomer will always be my first choice in gun cleaning patches.

Alwayss have loved the Southern Bloomers patches and have cleaned about a billion firearms with them, ok - one or two less but, great patches so I snap em up whenever possible. One star taken off for this purchase. Same great patches, very small bag for the price. Disappointing in the quantity of the patches purchased at what - dern near $8 ???? Wat?? That bag should have been at minimum twice the size. What was it she said? It's sooo cute!!

Love these cleaning patches. Very nice quality material. A few go a long way. I tried these out of curiosity and am glad I did. Hoppes, Outers, Allen,etc all seem to be made of several different material and are rough and not really pliable when using them. These are ACTUALLY real cotton and absorb cleanser and dirt both really well.

Very soft and lint less. Won't scratch a fine blued surface.

I like these as an all around patch to have . I like that, in general, they don't leave fuzzies. They're also easy to cut down for smaller calibers

Excellent patches, but I think Pro-Shot patches are a little better quality and $0.01/patch cheaper. Both are significantly better than Allen Patches (if they can be found anymore) and Otters patches are the worst by far.

I use them in both 45acp & 38 Special, fit good, no lint or thread coming off.
