Sam the Clam: Adventures Under the Jetty

My son received this book today and absolutely loved it! He sat down right away and read all 56 pages. He said “Mom, I love this story of Sam the Clam and his friends, and look there is my favorite sea turtle a Hawksbill next to the stingrays. Momma, we need to keep our oceans and beaches clean so all these animals can keep their homes.”As a mom, especially now, I’m always looking for ways to introduce new topics that are light hearted, kind and informative. This book covers all of those points and more! I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves our oceans and all the beautiful sea life living inside them!

This is a startling and gorgeous new children’s book by a marine biologist collaborating with a visual artist, both at the top of their game. The science is meticulous, the narration is delightful and the art is stunning. Every page is illustrated with a discerning and playful eye for fish and ocean creatures of every kind. The photographs of the actual fish the characters are based on are masterful. Overall this is a magical experience for children and others like me.

Who knew that learning could be so entertaining. This is a wonderful way to tell a very important story. The verse is very clever and fun and the artwork is beautiful. Also, I loved the "meet the characters" section.

This is such a great book to teach youngsters about ocean life and keeping our oceans clean. It's got humor, important lessons and the illustrations are magnificent. A definite must buy for all ocean lovers out there!

A totally charming book with fabulous illustrations. The children lucky enough to receive this will have a better understanding of life in our underwater world and be respectful of our oceans

Adorable book very well written and great illustrations. Reminded me of a Dr Seuss book rhyming. The author includes actual photos of the characters from her personel diving experiences. Highly recommended. Ecology based too.
