JOHN BARRY: THE DEFINITIVE COLLECTION PIANO, VOIX, GUITARE Paperback – Import, September 12, 2002

As the other reviewers stated the title “Definitive John Barry Collection” is misleading with only 13 pieces. Ten are easily available from other music books including seven from the James Bond films.Three of the pieces are from Barry's 1998 “The Beyondness of Things” album, which can not be found elsewhere. I only paid £3.29 including postage, so it was OK for these three pieces of work.

I bought this thinking I might find therein all of the most famous compositions and a good part of the lesser known ones. Expectations gone down the drain. This meagre collection is composed of just 13 themes, with half of them from the 007 movies (but my favourite, "Diamonds Are Forever", is missing) and half a dozen culled here and there from the rest of the author's enormous production. So this can't be "definitive" and the misleading title is the reason why instead of two I give it one star.
