Meets and exceeds expectations
This install is easy, peasy- just minutes. And they send you a two-ended tool with it. Plan for what to do with all that extra solar cord to fasten it to your wall as you seek optimum solar for the panel (clips?). I just wrapped it around the camera mount for now. Buy this solar component when you buy the camera, and then read the connection details twice; it's a bit confusing for the part where you need to screw the solar connection down on each side to make it most permanent on the back of the camera. Missed that round 1. After all it plugged in, so, done--- right?

Great Range and Solar Charging
I installed this spot light camera facing my shed in the back of my yard. It is about 200' from my house. I was surprised and thankful that the wireless connection worked. I purchased the unit hoping that it would work for my shed and it did. I had a motion detection alert once and saw a deer eating the flowers on the shed windows boxes and was able to turn on the siren and scare it away. I have had another solar spot light on my house for a year now and the solar panel did much better than expected. I have never had to manually recharge the batteries. They got down to 30% capacity in the middle of the Winter with the snow and short days, but in Spring the batteries went back up to 100%.

Love it! Greatly affected to sense of security
The Ring doorbell and camera greatly add to my sense of security here. While we put two batteries in this one we really didn’t need to. The solar charger has kept both fully charged even though it isn’t in a good location for picking up the sun’s rays. If you already have a Ring doorbell be aware that the night photos will be very different. We have the latest version of the doorbell with excellent color video even at night. This one has black and white photos at night Hr they are still very high quality.I also love how these are integrated into a system with other Amazon branded products. I can verbally tell even my old tv bought in 2008 to show my front door, garage, etc (other locations with ring cameras) on my tv and quickly see a full width picture. If I could change anything about this system I would make it so that you could bring multiple security photos up on screen both in the app and on TV. Neighborhoods surrounding mine have been having problems with prowlers trying windows and doors and it would be good to be able to pull up all camera images at once. (I have a Blink on hand to install, too. We shall see how they compare.)

Does a great job
We have a Blink outdoor camera over garage and wanted something better. The Ring is a winner. Easy set up and really like the solar panel set up. Image quality is excellent. What I really like is that I can set to go off when it detects a person and not go off when vehicle is detected. Has really cut down on alerts. It is very fast at alerting. Exactly what we wanted to be alerted if someone was approaching vehicle in driveway.

adding the solar panel.
i found that my outdoor camera with NO light the solar panel was picked up just fine and works great... but the outdoor with lights camera had issues and despite several attempts just didn't seem want to work... of course me being the Engineer i am i found that the attachment block on the back was just 2 thousands smaller than needed to be able to allow the plug from the solar panel to seat fully into the socket.so i went to my drill case and found the correct bit that match the clearance of the plug after pulling the mounting plate off just using my fingers was able to shave that little bit of plastic needed to allow the plug to seat tightly and all the way in for the solar panel to charge the camera. been working like a champ ever since...

Needs a sensitivity adjustment
Motion sensing triggers A LOT. I have one of these on our back gate, and the other on the backyard. I need to tune the "sense area" of the backyard one, but it triggers on all kinds of things. I'm actually not 100% sure what some of the triggers even are. I wish the ring app highlighted the area of some of the triggers...Panel seems to be doing a good job, but the app just says "connected" or "not". And when it isn't showing the panel as connected, it could just be that the panel is providing less than some arbitrary amount of power. The back gate one is worse about this, as it is partly under the gutter, on the east side of the house, so afternoons it always says disconnected... But after ~2 months, both batteries (1 in each camera, and 1 panel each) are at 100%... I charged them before I hung them, and only checked the panel on the one camera once, so in 2 months, I haven't done any physical work on either camera. And I do have the lights trigger on night time motion. does a decent job lighting up the patio, from ~14+ feet up. (Coworker had someone jump up on a box, and knock his cam down from ~9', so I went higher.)

We love our new outdoor camera and solar panel set up. It’s Great!!
We love the fact that it keeps charging because of the solar panel. It’s plug in and forget.I can pick up motion from the street. I had shoulder surgery in Dec. I was able to put this up with one hand.. literally, the other one was in a sling.so easy to use my wife’s mother loves using it.

Glad I got this....
I purchased this mainly to keep an eye on the folks who live behind me who refuse to stop cutting through my yard (smh). Plus it seems branches and debris magically appear on my property. So glad I decided to get this, I also have the solar panel attached so no worries of the battery dying. Great picture and sound.....I also tested the alarm and it can definitely be heard as well as the light seen. I do plan to add a motion floodlight to get more light in that area as it has several trees. But overall I'm pleased.
