Must read for any coach
Around the world, in our coaching community, this is a well known (IMO) book. There are many books out there that has a lot to do with coaching, but for me personally, Gold Dust, makes my top 5. A simple read. David and Keith not just telling what should or could be done, but also back their thoughts and ideas with life stories that in many ways all of us can relate to. What I got out of it might be different for someone else, but one of the main things for me was, put person first!!! Get to know them as individuals, make them feel important...everything else will come with time!!! MUST have for any coach. Also, check out their podcast. just search Gold Dust.

Amazing Book, Amazing Message
This book introduces an entirely different thought process when it comes to sports coaching. You can implement the messages in this book much further than just coaching though. The communication and connection skills that you’ll learn are key to creating meaningful and lasting effects on people around you. The fact that 10% of proceeds go to the Giles Trust is also very important to me. The Giles Trust supports brain Tumor patients and research. I have personally lost someone to a brain tumor and that makes it even easier to support. 100% recommend this book for anyone looking to improve their communication/connection skills.

Great Read
I purchased this book on a recommendation from my friend Richard Weston. He's a UEFA 'A' License and has been a director of coaching for a club here in Denver, CO so I took his advice. The book reminded me of some things that I already knew and it also introduced me to some other really good pieces of advice that I'd never considered. This book was overall easy to read and applicable to more than just the sport of soccer.

A must read for all coaches
This is an excellent book for any coach from any sport to read. It sets the fundamentals and importance on how to build connections with your players and athletes , creating that environment where they could gain their full potential with learning and performance and most importantly how to get to know your players and athletes more. From meeting Keith Mayer a few years ago on football coaching courses, he has a way of being able to inspire you as a coach and as a person. This has reflected in my coaching journey where I have taken on his advice, philosophies and ideas. These areas can be found throughout his book. Both David and Keith are such inspirational coaches with a lot of experience but most importantly, great people to meet. Their book is easy to follow and the most basic idea can make a huge impact within the coach and player/athlete. 5 star*

The best sport book of the year!
I can't emphasize just how important and powerful this book is and the effect it can have on any coach in any sport. Myself being from a football background, I couldn't help to think as I was ploughing through this book and in my opinion that there has got to be more within coaching qualfications on the relationship building between the coach and athlete, finding out the different ways of peeling the layers back in truly finding who the person is behind the athlete in order for us coaches to nurture, develop and guide in the most effective to meet their needs. The book is refreshing and has many pages that has you constantly thinking about yourself as a coach and how can i do things better going forward and having an even more meaningful relationship with my players. A very well put together book with some extracts that absolutely hit the sweet spot in the pursuit of finding excellence. Sport, business, parenting and good humility skills/lessons.....This book is for you! 5*

An inspiring and thought provoking read
Am already enjoying the journey this book is taking me on! It's insightful and thought provoking early chapters provide us as coaches with tools to go away and consider using with our players. The book is absorbing, it's language allows a nice easy flow while it engages you to reflect and build on your current practice. It's great to read the words of experienced coaches working in the game, to understand how they work and what has worked for them. This book is one I would certainly recommend to coaches who want to better themselves. Well done David and Keith!

Inspiring Coaching Playbook
Connecting, motivating, communicating, praising, caring...Real practical suggestions for you on these key coaching concepts, and many others. The book reads as mentoring from top professionals who have tried and tested experience many times in many different situations.I saw an early version of this and was enthralled. This published version needs to be in your collection, as not only can you read it cover to cover, as a coaching playbook, you can also dip in, almost at random, to refresh or give yourself a new perspective or inspiration.Very highly recommended.
