Slugfest Games The Red Dragon Inn 5 Strategy Boxed Board Game Ages 13 & Up (SFG019)

As a long time denizen of the Red Dragon Inn series, I can say with all certainty that this particular iteration is worth your purchase. Up until a couple of months ago when I bought this set, I was carrying everything in a wooden case that, while helped keep every set and every character expansion organized, it was also running out of space very quickly. RDI 5 is a godsend for that reason alone. The sheer size of the box guarantees that every single card that is in the game to date, gets a comfortable home that not only keeps the cards organized, but also easily accessible with the inclusion of dividers for every single character in the set to date. It comes with two black pouches that can accommodate all the coins amassed over the various releases. It also has more coins as well! The four new characters are wonderful, and have some really unique mechanics. I cannot recommend this game enough. Especially if you are a fan of RDI and you are like me in that you have every set possible. This is a great storage option for EVERYTHING that you may have. And it also comes with character mats for all current characters. Yes the price may seem steep but when you see what is inside the box, it becomes evident that Slugfest has heard the cries of their fans and bestowed upon us a mighty consolidation that brings everything together into one big box. Recommended.

I wasn't quite sure what I expected with this box. I certainly didn't expect it to be absolutely enormous. Box design is similar to the rest. I had a few slightly grubbed corners, but I'd expect them to wear down anyways so that wasn't a big deal.I only have the RDI 1 boxed set on hand to compare, but the storage is almost incomparable. Whereas the boxed set has the plastic insert that holds up to 8 decks in a messy fashion. It can definitely hold more if you remove the insert, but then you need to organize it so that the cards don't get mixed up.This box, on the other hand, is large enough to hold perhaps at least 90 decks plus extra materials. A single column can easily hold 30 player decks.The game itself comes with a few extra goodies (I've attached pictures) for people who have all the expansions.Mats for every character. These are in full color, and are about half as large as the original RDI mats. You don't have places for the decks, but you can throw these on top of them, or play without them.Dividers/Info Cards for every character and drink deck. These are slightly taller than the card and allow you to arrange the decks and see the contents without having to pull them out, and are labeled on both sides. The front features a portrait, while the rear has a small bio/explanation of character-specific gimmicks.Both a usable set of cardboard tokens (set of 8) and glass tokens (set of 4). Your choice which to use.A pair of black drawstring bags for gold. Each bag can hold about 2 games' worth of gold pieces and will take up about half a column.Extra plastic baggies. I threw the cardboard tokens into this.Enough foam dividers for you to stock up a single column. I was afraid these would be short. I was horribly wrong. There are a lot of them.I only managed to put in my Red Dragon Inn 1 Box and Red Dragon Inn 5 cards so far, and it's pretty apparent that this box will take quite a while to fill. For even the fully dedicated purchaser, this box is pretty big. I'm thinking about putting all my Cards Against Humanity expansions into one of the other columns at this rate!

This is a fun game with lots of player interaction. My game group took to it at once and made it a staple.This is a GOTCHA game, where you try to make the others pass out, run out of money or otherwise lose the game.The rules are not difficult and there is a huge following to answer questions, run demos and/or hold tournaments.The games. 1 thru 7, come with a drink deck, 4 characters, rules, tokens and whatever special items are needed to play the game.Each game has different characters and drink decks.Characters have special cards to give them identities and play differently due ti this.Drink decks are 30 cards of drinks that vary from box to box and have promo cards available.This game has all of the standard items in a game.Additionally. this game has special cards for all the existing characters at the time of issue.Newer games will follow the new format for these cards making a seamless game.This is the "big box", designed to hold everything that is out and much of what is coming.A good starting point, if you know you will like the game, or a must have if you are playing the game.

It comes with more characters and most space for your other expansions. It also has player boards for the earlier character expansions without them. (Though some of them only look halfway decent)

The game is fun. Easy to play. The character choices give every gave a different twist.

Ok, so with the release of RDI 8 - Pub Crawl, and after years of collecting, I have every single expansion and character that's been released. This brings the total up to 55 characters, 8 drink decks, several location variants, and more tokens and character pieces than I can count. As you can see in the picture, it just barely fits. This is with EVERYTHING that is specifically for RDI, which means no Battle for Greyport stuff is in here. If you sleeve your cards, this will not hold everything, but it should hold most of them. I could probably reduce the amount of gold coins I kept in the black bag to half, and have enough for a few more characters, but it's not going to be much more space.All this being said, GET this expansion. The organizer is great, the space is great, the characters are great... 10/10 - Might actually buy again for more space, haha.Also, as I just found out today, Slugfest Games makes an identical organizer for this (sold at a similar price too I might add), that is basically this box (with different artwork), the organizer inside, and that's it. I might actually have to get one now for extra releases after RDI 8.
