A beautiful deck that keeps very Art Nouveau styled themes
A beautiful deck that keeps very Art Nouveau styled themes, rather than being a perfect clone of the Rider-Waite (like Lo Scarabeo's Tarot Mucha is closer to being). The majors are pretty standard, though minors may take more attention to details like facial expressions and body language to truly get the meanings--this deck also doesn't have labels beyond Roman numerals and symbols for the suits and courts, so it isn't the most beginner friendly deck out there. The stock is more of a medium thickness, though fairly stiff. The book has quite a bit of information in it: beyond an introduction to the deck and Art Nouveau, there's a three card spread and a sample reading. Much of it is--of course--information on the cards; each major has a full page of information, and each minor has a full paragraph. The book is in full color and each card is pictured alongside its meaning. However, the Italian, Spanish, German, and French sections of the book are very minimal and have nothing more than a few keywords, even for the majors. The box itself is sturdy, though the band depicting Lo Scarabeo's logo looks a little odd. The design also is not printed on the box and instead is printed on a foil-like paper that's then glued onto the box, so it arrived with a couple edges trying to come undone. All in all, while it may not be a great deck for a beginner reading, it's lovely to work with--especially for fans of Art Nouveau.

beautiful and light deck
I love the artwork in these cards because I am a huge art nouveau fan. I think the major acana is very accessible and doesn't stray too far from RWS. The minor acana cards do not have the standard RWS symbolism but are more than pip cards. At first they may all seam fairly similar and meaningless (just full of lots of beautiful half-naked women, as some have criticized the deck for), however, if you look more closely at the cards and spend time thinking about the colors and the facial expressions on the women you will find the meanings very clear. The premium version comes with a better book than the basic version which is helpful in understanding the symbolism of the minors. The one thing I didn't like is that the backs of the cards is the image from the justice card which I find distracting. Also, if you read reversals this means you will be able to tell when a card is reversed. Another point, which I don't think is necessarily a negative (depending on your perspective) is that it is a very "light deck" which I believe is largely due to the art nouveau style.

Good cards, good book, bad case.
The cards are beautiful. There are a lot of subtleties in the designs. You really have to look carefully at the expressions on the people's faces. I think that these cards are great for questions about relationships. And I really like the elegant simplicity of the cards' elemental and court indicators. I'm pretty sure the product's image is inaccurate, though. I don't remember there being the trumps' titles at the top and I think the numbers at the bottom were roman numerals–not the normal base-10 numbering system. The negatives: some of the cards feel repetitive and the colors are too pale. The book is attractive and informative. It's sturdy, well written, and colorful. Most of it is in english; there are some short descriptions in other languages. You might need to put on your reading glasses. The case is poorly designed. The cards are too big to fit. That's why there's a significant gap between the top and bottom parts of the case. You can see it in the product's image. I'm pretty sure that this was unintentional on the creator's or manufacturer's part. When the case is empty, the top and bottom parts fit snugly and the design lines up properly. It just doesn't make sense because any vertical pressure applied to the case will transfer to the cards. I think some pressure was applied to the case during shipping. The cards I received were slightly bent. I tried to ignore it but I couldn't. The deck always had a small but significant break of continuity between some of the cards, which made it difficult to choose a random card. I had to return them and get a refund.I would have given these cards a 4 if it weren't for the case.

I collect tarot decks and this one is absolutely beautiful!!
I collect tarot decks and this one is absolutely beautiful!!! It is also more in depth than at first glance. I really like it because of the earthy feel it has to it with all the flowers or scenery of the card. The Fool card is one of my all time favorites. Also the Sun card. The book is also helpful in that it explains the card more than just little white book that comes with most Lo Scarobeo decks. The box it comes in is very pretty also. I did a deck interview with it and I was very pleased. I have other decks I rarely use. I use this one almost everyday if not for a reading then I use it by pulling a card out and sitting it on my nightstand along with an oracle card usually for meditation. I also use this deck for celebrating the wheel of the year.

3 STARS..
Despite the excellent quality of the cardstock, this deck lacked color and vibration. Particularly, I don't like soft tones very much, but if you do, you will surely find this beautiful and delicate.

Beautiful and powerful.
I so LOVE these cards! Beautiful artwork, each card tells a thorough story. Even my friends who are very skeptical of "woo woo" stuff were impressed with how many "direct hits" the cards' descriptions gave.

Love the size and colors
Gorgeous! Love the size and colors. Harder coming from the Rider-Waite to figure out the symbols but I think worth it!

Gorgeous non-traditional deck
This is an absolutely beautiful deck, and one I’m happy to have in my collection. That being said, this is not a traditional Tarot deck. Particularly with the suit cards, much of the traditional symbolism of Tarot is absent. The guidebook tells you that these cards are meant to be read in the emotions of the figures depicted – what they’re doing, how they are positioned relative to one another, how they're touching one another, the expressions on their faces, etc. For those of you that are more empathic than intuitive, this may be an excellent deck. The meanings of the cards are also slightly different, my favorite being the interpretation of The Hanged Man, which seems quite different from a standard deck. There are also no inverse interpretations given for these cards in the guidebook. That, plus the choice of design of the card backing, indicates to me that these cards aren’t meant to be read inversely. There are plenty of cards in the deck that offer positive, cautionary, or blended readings so I feel I can use them confidently nevertheless. The guidebook offers interpretations in English, Italian, Spanish, French, and German. As a last note, there is plenty of nudity (tasteful, imo) in these cards, so buyer beware if that’s not your thing or you’re buying for someone else!Overall, I’m incredibly pleased with this deck. I’m happy I’ve bought it and I have no complaints. I wouldn’t recommend it as a first deck for a tarot beginner, but it sure is fun and pretty!
