Interesting Twists
McMan captures the sleazy underbelly of high profile politics in this well-written thriller romance. Characters are so clearly defined that one knows them. Looking forward to Book 2 of the series.

I really enjoyed this book
I really enjoyed this book. The plot was different and that alone was refreshing. The story is what happens behind the scenes when someone is running for a public office. I am not a fan of political books, but this was a different take with sex and romance thrown in for good measure. No one is as they seem. The book has left open the chance of a sequel with one or more characters. The writing was smooth and well done. I am a fan of McMan's books, but this is one of my favorites.

Disappointed
After reading "Jericho" I was looking forward to reading more of Ms. McMan. What happened? I immediate fell in love with the two main characters in "Dust". I was expecting to see fireworks! Nada! Why? As many of the other reviewers note, Ms. McMan goes from a kiss to the next morning and having coffee. We are at a time in sociality where we can buy our "women's stories" without censure. We can expect to read a romantic and passionate interaction between the characters without scandal. It is appropriate to open the bedroom door and describe the chemistry between the characters. I believe that when we sit down to read a romance -- well, we expect to get lost in the fantasy. We want to be transported into their realm for a moment. Not only did this book not have a spark -- I felt there was no conclusion.

Wonderfully fun and intense
A delightful love story mixed in with drama, suspense, murder and the threat of murder. Excellent editing compared to numerous other books I've read lately - no misspelled words, missing words, awkward sentences. Believable dialogue among likable characters. And just the right amount of humor, not so much as to be slapstick but all the elements coming together for just a moment in a way that made me laugh, but the story didn't stop for humor - a moment of humor in the steady pace of the story.

A good read
A great read, I’m going to start the next one in this two book series tonight. Appropriate to the current times (Aug, 2020), a bid for the US Presidency leads the characters to sleazy politics and murder. Read the blurb. Story contains a love interest, sex is inferred. The usual Ann McMan quality.

Hoping for A second Installment
This was an excellent second novel from Ann McMan full of political intrigue and a variety of plot twists that keeps the reader guessing. Each of the characters have their own complexities with varying degrees of "badness" making it difficult to figure out who the good guys are in the story. There were several times when I thought I had a handle on who the "bad guy" was and then there would be a new twist that would point me in another direction. There were also several characters I would like to see again, obviously I'd like to know what happens with Evan Reed and Julia Donne, but I'd also like to see Maya/Margo to learn more about her and what exactly is she involved in.I will definitely be keeping an eye out for any other novels by Ann McMan.

Engaging story
This was a decent book. It had a nice touch of mystery and intrigue to keep my attention. It was a pleasant surprise. She avoided stereotyping - the hero to the rescue was not the 6ft strapping butch-thank you for that. A hero who uses her brain, and whose methods are not squeaky clean. The 'fade to black' sex scenes were a little silly and used too often. Now granted her scenes sure as hell beats the gynocologist exams that many writers use in their sex scenes, but some middle point would be nice.A sequel would be nice. The Margo really was interesting, I'd like to read more of her.

Hooked
I was hooked from the beginning. Though I didn't always like the lead characters. I did enjoy the story. I am ordering the next book.

The same high quality as all of Ann McMan's books
Good writing, solid characters, interesting mystery, sweet romance. By this point, I can say that this was exactly what I was expecting from Ann McMan; not that the book is predictable, no, but that the quality of the book is predictable since all of her books that I've read have been of high quality with this one being no exception. I've already bought "Galileo" and I'll read it sometime in the future when my TBR pile isn't literally taller than me😂.
