Drop bar disc brakes
This replacement housing was recommended to me when I was considering brake upgrades for my new Poseidon Redwood. On my old gravel bike I have Tektro Hy/RD cable-actuated hydraulic brakes, and I found those brakes to be more than adequate for road, trail, and gravel. Those are at least $150 though, and this bike takes flat-mount brakes, the no-name copies I found are all post mount.I was very hesitant, especially since this costs so much and comes with more than one bike's worth of housing, but went with the crowd wisdom, and boy were they right! I've gone from pulling the lever to the bar with inadequate engagement, to full engagement in only a quarter of the distance. For drop bar disc brake bikes, you have to unwrap the bars to remove the old housing. On the rear brake, I frayed the cable and had to order a new cable. I should have gotten the new $8 Jagwire brake cables anyway as they were noticeably slicker. I also damaged my bar tape, I'll replace it soon with new tape and some gel pads to go underneath, but I can mend it with electrical tape for now.Getting the cable inside of the housing was a bit of an issue for me, another reason to get new cables to go with the housing as the ends won't be frayed. I reamed out the housing with a paper clip and twisted the old brake cables in with 50% success. One brake cable frayed and while I got it in the housing, it unwound and created a lot of friction and required replacement. This comes with end caps and mid caps, not sure the proper term for them.I cut the housing with a dremel style thin cut-off wheel. You can use cable cutters or a hacksaw or probably other things I haven't thought of.Overall this product improved the brakes' functionality by like 400% and I'm very pleased to have found it. I considered upgrading my other gravel bike, but it occurs to me that the cable housing for that bike might be fine. It might just be this bike with the cheap housing. If you have a bike with disc brakes and you're sure the feel at the lever should be less spongey, this might be right for you. It sure helped me out.

Must-have
Upgraded my Poseidon X bike to these and it was a night/day performance change.

Great product
This compressionless housing really makes a difference.I am using TRP Spyre mechanical disc brakes on an internal routing frame, thus the run of the rear brake housing is over 6 ft long. The difference in feel when compared with the regular Jagwire housing is not subtle. But, it's not a must have either, for the regular Jagwire does the job as well, you only have to squeeze more and absorb some spongyness inherent with the regular brake housing.I was able to lock the rear wheel with all my 200lbs on the saddle with it too.But the compressionless one feels better, the pads bite sooner and stronger. Braking late is more fun and the confidence in braking is stronger.I have aero carbon handlebar with internal routing and the flex terminators Jagwire recommends were not needed, didn't use any of them (they were a separate purchase). This compressuoless housing is stiffer, but not that much stiffer when compared with the regular Jagwire housing.All-in-all, very happy with the purchase. The product is great, the upgrade it brings is palpable and the price is great.

If your mechanical disc brakes are mushy...
Got these to replace the cheap generic housings on my CAADX after I decided to ditch the (kinda crappy) ProMax brakes for TRP Spyres - shifting feels about the same, but the brakes are way better with these non-compressible housings vs the cheaper stuff. As for wrapping the bars etc with these stiffer lines...I personally haven't had any issues. Yes, they're a little more fiddly but being generous with electrical tape makes it easy enough.

Nice little upgrade to normal housings. Enough for 2 or 3 jobs
Mechanical disc brakes still are terrible but these make them better especially the rear and are a must. Price is misleadingly high as you can easily re-cable the bike two or three times with what’s included making it around the same price as Dura-Ace brake cable housing.

Greatly improves braking performance
Used with my TRP Spyres. Greatly improves braking performance - a must have for anyone running mechanical disc brakes.Tougher to cut than normal housing, so I recommend quality sharp cutters + filing, or using a dremel.

Takes mechanical disc brakes up a level
This shouldn’t be an afterthought when installing mechanical disc brakes - particularly road brakes wher the mechanical advantage is reduced.Completely changes the feel in the brake pull and for long lines as is found on cargo bikes - the difference is dramatic.

Must have für mechanische Scheibenbremsen.
Wenn der Druckpunkt der mechanischen Scheibenbremsen mit normaler Bremszughülle zu weich ist ist das hier die Lösung. Drähte in der Hülle laufen tangential anstatt spiralförmig. Dadurch viel druckstabiler. Einziger Nachteil: weniger flexibel.
