If you're looking for a thorough review - here you go!
I am not normally the person to get excited over new cleaning products. I just want something that does the job it's supposed to do - no bells and whistles necessary. This vacuum got me excited enough to come write a review.I'm going to break this down by features.- Chord length - The chord is nice and long! With my old vacuum I would get so annoyed because I was either accidentally pulling the plug out of the outlet or having to stop what I'm doing to change to a closer outlet just to finish a room. Drove me insane! With the Hoover I found myself able to do an entire room and sometimes start into another room all without having to change outlets. Seems silly to rave about but it saved me time and frustration.- Hose/tools - I live near the woods so I'm in a constant battle with spiders and cobwebs. A durable hose is important to help clean the hard to reach webs. I just received the vacuum yesterday so I cannot attest to the long lasting durability of the hose but it feels like a great quality and made my dusting rounds today a lot easier. My last vacuum the hose kept cracking and I would lose all suction and had to hold it a certain way to be able to clean. The Hoover also has an awesome feature where you can lower the suction of the hose which I found helpful today when a plant tipped over on my table and I was able to clean it up without sucking up the table cloth. As far as the tools - it came with this weird "pet" attachment that has heavy duty rubber strips instead of rollers - at first I looked at it like "what the heck is this going to do?" but let me tell you - it's amazing. I vacuumed my steps today with that attachment and while it's kind of awkward to use at first it completely transformed the carpet and brought it back to life! I literally texted my husband while he was at work saying "the pet attachment completely revitalized our carpet!!" (it's been a tough year so yea I'm pumped with any small wins).- Weight - I know some of the reviews said that it's too heavy and hard to push - I disagree. It's not the lightest vacuum I've ever owned but it definitely isn't too heavy. It has just enough weight to feel like it's built to last and it has amazing suction power that you can definitely feel when pushing but I did my entire house today - including carrying the unit up the stairs while cleaning them - and carrying the vacuum by the handle while using the hose to clean all along the trim and ceilings and I have no complaints about the weight. Trust me I'm no weight lifter so my arms would be falling off if this was too much to handle.- Hardwood/tile - I know a lot of vacuums say they are good for hardwood and tile floors - I have never been impressed with their abilities and opted for a broom and dust pan - I have three dogs so I would get what I like to call "fur tumbleweeds" not fun to deal with. The Hoover seemed to do an amazing job even on the non carpet areas of the house so I'm pretty pumped to not have to sweep around tumbleweeds anymore! So if anyone is still reading at this point...bottom line is so far I'm very impressed with this vacuum. If I remember I will come back and update about the long lasting durability but after researching a bunch of vacuums and seeing the prices I am happy to say that this vacuum is cheaper and seems to do an amazing job so far! The amount of dirt/dander/ and fur it picked up even though I recently vacuumed with my old vacuum is amazing (and disturbing!) My husband and I have noticed our allergies this year have been out of control and after seeing what this vacuum picked up I wasn't surprised! So hopefully now we will be getting some relief!

3 of these malfunctioned within weeks
I wanted to love this vacuum! It's got great suction, it's designed well - easy to manipulate, simple to empty and clean, and the attachment is fantastic. We live in an older home with primarily hardwood floors, so the attachment wand is particularly important to me - I need it to have a very long reach, and this one does. Our first Hoover Max Life Pet Pro Swivel was delivered at the end of January. It worked well, but we noticed right away that there was a significant crack in the plastic around the handle, going down into the wand. The function of the vacuum didn't seem to be impaired yet, but we also felt that when buying a brand new vacuum, it ought to arrive free of damage, so we sent it back to Amazon and got a replacement of the same product. Our second vacuum arrived at the beginning of February. By the beginning of March, it also developed a crack in the plastic around the handle/wand. I was frustrated, but the vacuum was functioning without issue. Until the crack moved a little further, and then it effectively disabled the means by which the wand stays locked in place when not in use - so that when using the vacuum on a rug in the push/pull motion, every pull dislocated the wand. Which is, of course, attached to the handle itself. Every push was impossible to control - the vacuum moved at awkward angles. I'd have to move it around by pushing on the canister. Obviously, this wasn't acceptable or sustainable! We contacted Amazon, but the (30-day, I believe?) return window had just passed. Amazon customer service was great and connected us with Hoover customer service. Hoover arranged to send us another vacuum- same model. I was skeptical, but I really LIKED this vacuum (except for the breaking.....) and another replacement seemed to be our only option. Amazon couldn't refund any longer, and Hoover wasn't willing to.Our third vacuum arrived from Hoover by the end of March. On April 16, after vacuuming the area rug under my dining room table, I turned it off, pulled out the wand to get the edges of my floors, and pushed the power button again. The vacuum wouldn't turn back on. It lit up, but wouldn't run. I tried it in various outlets, but with no luck. I waited a few hours, tried again, and this time it did turn on. But the motor sounded very loud, and it had almost no suction. Over the next day or two, this just got worse until it had no suction whatsoever and was hot to the touch whenever it was turned on.We contacted Hoover, wanting a refund so that we could buy another vacuum - NOT a Hoover. Hoover, however, is unwilling to refund us because our original payment went to Amazon. They sent us another model. The customer service agent assured me that this new vacuum would meet my needs - and I was clear to tell her that the most important things to me are a long-reach wand and a HEPA filter. The vacuum that arrived is smaller and cheaper (149.99 vs. 199.99) than this model that I am reviewing, and the wand has a much shorter reach. It's bulkier, harder to manipulate, and I do not like it at all. I am at a loss about what to do at this point.Mostly, I'm disappointed in Hoover. I was all set to love this vacuum - like I said at the top, the design and function are just what I was looking for. But a machine that keeps breaking is just a bad machine. If Hoover had refunded us after the second vacuum had broken, I would have thanked them for their customer service and moved on. Instead, I am stuck with a Hoover model that doesn't meet my needs, and I will never buy another product from this company.
