Excellent storytelling
The four stars are because the names did get me a touch confused at times. But this is a rattling good story, well told, that takes the reader back to a time most of us can only catch a glimpse of. I was half-in love with a certain younger brother so was really upset that he won’t be in the next book!

An action-packed tale from a bygone age
This depiction of British battles and treachery in the dark ages rattled along at a rip-roaring pace. I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to hearing more about the lives of Acha and Aethelfrith in the promised follow up novel.

Angles or Angels?
I absolutely loved this book. Thank goodness for authors like Dr. Stokes for bringing history alive - history that I knew very little about before. I cared about the characters and couldn't put it down! Looking forward with some trepidation to the follow up - won't say why as it could spoil the ending!

It's probably the most compelling of its genre I've ever read and I really like this genre.
Knowing that the history behind 'Angles or Angels' is very close to this story makes it come alive. After reading it the history lesson at the end is equally compelling.

Great history linked to romantic adventure
I read the book on Kindle and much enjoyed it. Congratulations to the author on producing a great piece of historical writing inter-woven with a romantic adventure story.
