Three African-American Classics: Up from Slavery, The Souls of Black Folk and Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass

This book should be used as part of the high school curriculum. Little is known about Black history.

Glad to have it on my shelf

I’m a homeschool mom and I teach my son a lot about our history... not just in February. I decided we are going to re-review many people’s lives and I came across this book, I had to order it. It was delivered today, on time. I cannot wait to start reading it. The price was great too!!! Parents, it’s important for our children to know their history... the truth! Amazon offers so many wonderful choices!

I require the book for my humanities classes.

The book consists of some of the most notable texts in African American literature.

We should all have this book to read as reference and insightful.

Great resource

With the current political climate in mid-2020, these three books are wonderful to help understand the struggles of African Americans throughout the years. These were recommended to my (mostly) white church congregation by a visiting African American preacher. He was (virtually) there to help us understand how we could partner with the African American community in these difficult times. He specifically called these three books as a great resource. They are phenomenally written and well worth the read.
