I Love Supergirl

Good News they get rid of the multiverse, bad news they replace it with virtual reality, apart form that this is a fairly good season.

If you are a fan of Kara and Lena's friendship (or whatever you want to call it) you should enjoy this season. I'm not keen on Supergirl's new look.The UK release as mentioned in the title only has the first episode or hour of the Crisis. On the US release I understand you get all of them! (UK 4 discs and US 5 discs) This is for the Blu-ray not sure about DVD.So you will have to purchase the Crisis on an individual DVD or get the other Arrowverse shows on BD if you desire the other parts in HD.On a positive note Warner have FINALLY seen sense and improved the bit rates for the episodes this season. Season 1-4 of Supergirl suffer from quite poor bit rates for both Blu-ray and DVD. That is the episodes are overly compressed so the picture quality suffers in particular on the DVD.Such a shame the previous seasons didn't receive this treatment.

Excellent quality and no problems with it

Super girl had started to get a bit samey. The introduction of lex Luther made the previous season more interesting and the half or this season I’ve seen so far keeps living up to it.

Not quite finished the final disc but all the previous three were excellent and I will resubmit this review once the fourth disc has been seen completely seen. So far it is good value for money and a great viewing for a great story.I grew up in the early 50's and bought all the super hero comics (I wish I had them now) but film making was poor to say the least and special affects had not been invented like today. This is a great time for film series and I am looking forward to maybe a season 6 of Super Girl.

Most episodes of Supergirl are pretty awful, let's be honest, BUT in each series there are always a couple of gems.Season 5 has It's a Super Life, where Supergirl tries to change the timeline by literally flicking back through past episodes (very meta), and my personal favourite is Alex in Wonderland, where Alex uses VR to live out a fantasy of being Supergirl only she can't escape it & loses sense of what's actually real.Otherwise it's a pretty weak series. The storylines are somehow both simplistic and overly convoluted. It works best in stand alone mode such as the above episodes. Stargirl was written so much better - they should hire those writers instead.
