Battery was good. Installing it was not
I knew when I ordered this replacement battery, I had a 50/50 chance of installing it without cracking my display. Unfortunately,I ended up cracking it. And it took me 3 assembly and disassembly attempts to get the display 30 pin connector fully seated and working. I ended up using some 3M Super 33+ electrical tape to cover the broken glass that's possible due to the X2s very large bezels. It works. However everything right of the main crack does not work with touch. But the display is still working if you can ignore the crackThe short videos on YouTube of seperating the display from the main body unsurprisingly made it look way easier then it really is. The repair guide from Ifixit list this repair as very difficult. And after my experience,I can confirm their 100% right. It's the tape on the bottom by the screws that makes it very difficult to sperate the display without cracking it. And I found you can't replace the display at this point as nobody has replacements anymore. But honestly at this point if anyone does, it's just not financially worth it if you get to that point.I attempted my battery replacement with tools from the Ifixit Pro tool kit. And a Bondo dent pulling suction cup that I had for the repair. The foil tape at the top by the webcam. And the heat tape at the bottom were what made seperating the display from the body almost impossible of not cracking the display. Possibly a couple seconds of a heat gun might have made the repair successful. But I'll never know.If anyone still has and uses an HP Spectre X2 and are sick and tired of the bad battery warning on bootup, this replacement from October 2016 according to my Bios will work. But only consider this repair if extremely patient, and failure of cracking the display while doing the repair is considered.

Not recognized by my laptop
This battery did not work with my HP Spectre X2. The computer did not recognize the battery. I suspect that HP batteries have a chip that the computer reads. When I go into the bios setup, there is no serial number for the battery. HP is notorious for not allowing second party devices to be used.
