USED AT MEAL TIME TO KEEP MEAL WARM FOR OLDER PERSON who eats very slowly. Looked at stone plate with wooden holder made specifically for this purpose, but it cosst 5x as much. Works very well for this purpose. It is small....maybe 6" square (stone only). but that is probably more safe when used in this way, because the hot surface is well covered by the dinner plate. Handles are very convenient. It is heavy, so it will not easily shift around. If it was made with a wooden or other durable surround & more attractive granite, I would give it 5 stars. White plastic surround may not hold up a long time.

My hubby eats so slow that I have to reheat when he's a half way through his meal, and he's not a big eater, either. The plate is hot even after he's done with his meal. It does not look like much, but it is my best buy ever!!!!

This really works! My elderly mother takes forever to eat. Any kind of hot plate requiring electricity was not an option, so when I found thison line, I decided to try it. Two minutes in the microwave, with the granite stone face down on the bottom glass of the microwave, and it ishot. And stays hot. It is still warm when Mom finishes. The only issue has not been a big one. The plate is elevated about an inch as it sitson the stone of the tray, and can slip around a bit. I've found that styrofoam plates do better.
