Sodor has a poorly run rail system and questionable environmental and quality control standards.
I'm not sure what the moral of this story is. Basically trucks (who is guess are one step below the quasi sentient trains since they don't even get a name) cause millions of dollars in product and man-hours to be lost, not to mention an environmental disaster involving tons of raw coal. In the end, even though none of the trains make their deliveries, they each get washed and everything is all smiles, the end They didn't even get punished. So if you have a job to do, kids: try hard. Or don't, whatever. The one redeeming quality of this book is the pissed off look on Thomas' face when he crashes: priceless. I make up my own words half the time, but my 2-year old doesnt seem to notice. PS, if you are trying to break your toddler of saying "NO", this book uses the phrase "No No No" on every other page. I prefer to substitute the more genteel "No, thank you". But seriously, of the 6 Thomas books we have, this one is requested by name often. And there is a corresponding Troublesome Trucks pull toy by Tomy if you can find it.

Deceptive cover. Percy does not appear in the book
The cover is deceptive. Percy, the green train, does not appear AT ALL in this book. This is fine if you just want a book about trains. But if your kid, like mine, is into Thomas and knows all the train's names etc, this book will disappoint. The book itself is lame, but only slightly more so than other Thomas books. The real issue is he thought he was getting a Percy book

It's a hit.
My grandson is a Thomas fan and especially enjoys this story. Another colorful adventure for Thomas. The book was in great condition and arrived quickly.

A great Thomas book
My 2-1/2 year old son loves this book! It is not his favorite Thomas book just yet, though it is still one he likes to read.

Very small
this was very disappointing that I bought this to look at with my son and the pages really only take up a third of the page. a larger page would have kept his attention better.
