Upgrade from D-loops to buckle is DEFINITELY worth the money and effort, but this specific product could be better
Functions as intended, and isn't too bad to put on. I would recommend this product, or something like it, to anyone. I did give it three stars for what I feel are a few good reasons, though.First, while I'm not terribly upset about it, you do have to modify your strap if you have a button on it. Not a big deal - minor inconvenience.Second is the build quality. The thing looks durable and certainly functions as it is supposed to, but the one I got looked kinda dirty, like it was made in someone's garage. It just lacked a certain amount of polish that I generally expect from a new item. Not a big deal at all, but these things do stack up.Third, the instructions could definitely be improved. I read through them, tried to internalize what they said, but it's such a simple product I decided it'd be easier to just figure it out myself. After a minute of fiddling I got it installed, but some more informative directions, or perhaps some pictures would've been nice. Those three things in tandem lost a star from me.The second star was taken off because when it is properly installed and adjusted, the metal buckle digs into my neck, making it a bit uncomfortable to wear. I'm putting a bit of padding around it to keep it from chafing so much, but it did cause me to do something stupid (read below).During a trip to the gas station, I unbuckled the strap because, as mentioned above, it was digging into my neck and irritating me. Much to my chagrin, when I rode off I completely forgot that I'd unbuckled it, and about half a mile down the road realized what I'd done. To its credit, I managed to use only my gloved left hand to close the buckle while I was still riding, which would've been completely impossible to do with the D-loops it replaced. Heck, I couldn't buckle the D-loops with 2 hands while standing still if I had gloves on, so take that for what it's worth. On the other hand, it was uncomfortable enough to cause me to not want to have my helmet buckled for a thirty second fill-up, which I've never had a problem with before. All in all, the convenience of replacing a D-loop strap with a buckle is undeniable, and this product certainly works as described. On the other hand, I can't help but think there are better options out there. Still, for the price this was definitely worth it. I just think it could've been a bit better with a little bit more quality control and/or R&D.

Can't live without this
Have a Nolan Hatch Helmet, where the whole front comes up, it comes with a snap something like this but much easier to use. Had an old prong type connector for my wife but I had to snap it on and off each time. On an Older Helmet ( very easy on and off) and my Wifes, I installed one of these on each one. No trouble, you may have to use a screwdriver to muscle the strap in between the space but a small item. Works phenomenally very easy on and off and aside from being plastic it works well, This is way easy to use, why waste time weaving a strap in and out each time you use a helmet. For the price of this you need to just buy it and save at least 15 seconds securing your helmet. This is a no brainer.

A true must have for helmets!
This product has made my motorcycling life way better! Easy to get helmet on and off with a quick snap. I use to struggle with the threading strap method and was always so frustrated every time I had to put on or take off my helmet. Now each of my motorcycle helmets have this quick release buckle and I love it. The only reason I gave it a 4 star instead of a 5 star is that I had to cut off the snap on the strap of my helmet even though the instructions say the snap does come off...NOT!

Works well. Tough install.
Once installed this quick connect works great. It is very easy on and off. It seems to be well constructed and the lifetime guarantee backs it up. The problem is the installation. It was very difficult to get on. I had to cut off my D rings so there was no going back. It depends on how much room you have on the D ring loop. That being said I would purchase again because it is better than the other ones out there.

Ad for Quick Release should warm of alteration to chin strap!
My husband bought this and is writing this review: I missed something while reading the reviews on this product; that being that I would have to remove the strap snaps! No way I was going to do that with my brand new $550 Shoei helmet! Instructions should be online, or a warning with online ad of the need to remove the snaps! Stuck with it now and hopefully I can find another rider that is willing to make alteration to use the Quick Release!

Makes it so using my helmet is easy
I recently bought a side-by-side offroad utility vehicle and my wife insistes I be a good role model for our girls and wear a helmet. Now I grew up riding bikes and skateboarding helmet free so messing with the helmet straps grew old quickly. Luckily I found this quick release on Amazon so I'll keep using my helmet anytime I ride.Installation was easy, just a couple of seconds to strap on initially and adjust for my big ole head. My wife's helmet has a button on it and I didn't have any plier to pull it off but thats not the products fault.Great clip, almost as good as my built in helmet sunvisor!

Amazing
This buckle is such a quality of life update for using a helmet. It takes about 10 minutes to install and another 10 to use a dremel to remove the extra d-rings that remain. The lock is positive and audible so you know you’re locked in. The release is easy to access and use - even when gloved. Highly recommend this product to everyone.

Wind therapy!!
A bit tricky to get on but with patience, it's worth it. I used a pencil, like the instructions said, to help pry the part where you have to insert the -quick release- into. Got these on two different helmets now. You'll probably have extra strap flapping at you (ouch) in the wind. I cut some of the strap off and melted it with a lighter so it wouldn't unravel. Now it looks like my helmet was made just for me; a perfect fit.
