Graphics are beautiful. History provided is insightful, but my copy arrived damaged; some pages weren't properly cut by the printer. (See photos)

This is a stunning book. When it arrived on my doorstep I immediately dug in. The first chapter (written in English) was thrilling and judging by the pictures in the second chapter I assumed it would be as well. I noticed that it was written in German, the following in French and the next in English. Being an English-only speaker I can only understand 1/3 of this book. Though the visuals are beautiful i would really like to read the information enclosed. Is there an English translated version? Please help; I really love this book.

The standard reference for this subject. As good an art/design book as you'll find on any subject.Fascinating, beautifully written text and dazzling images. Moss Lipow hit it out of the park. A transcendent achievement.

As always Taschen has done it again with the quality pictures of Vintage eyewear contained in this book by Moss Lipow. The clear and accurately sized images really gives perspective on the pieces themselves almost as if you are actually holding them in your hands. Collectors will be amazed by the pictured historical eyewear artifacts. Truly a gem in any collection.

Great book. I own an optical shop and it makes for great conversation, and to help people get in the mood for trying on new glasses.

Marvellous coffee table book

Zum Buch:Ein toller Bildband, der auf einzigartige Weise mit vielen Beispielen die visuelle Geschichte der Brille erzählt. Definitiv kein wissenschaftliches Werk, aber für Designer und Designaffine sehr inspirierend. Abgefahrene Entwürfe und gute Beschreibungen zum Gestaltungshintergrund und dem Kontext.Und vor allem: alle gezeigten Modelle sind mit Hersteller und Designer als Urheber kenntlich gemacht (sofern bekannt oder überliefert).Etwas was die meisten Museen und Onlinequellen nicht bieten können.Zum Händler:Ich konnte das Buch aktuell nur gebraucht über Medimops/Momox erwerben. Zustand „wie neu“.Naja - wenn neue Bücher Risse und Falten im Einband und stark vergilbte Seitenrücken haben stimmt das wohl. Nein im Ernst: der Zustand ist bestenfalls „akzeptabel“ aber weder gut geschweige denn „wie neu“ und damit auch der Preis sehr überzogen.

Wer die Brille lebt und liebt wird mit diesem Bildband glücklich werden. Zahlreiche tolle und vor allem Maßstabsgetreue Abbildungen von faszinierenden Brillengestellen machen dieses Buch für mich zu einem Pflichtkauf. Einzige Kritik ist die fehlende Vielfalt von Brillen der 1990er und 2000er Jahre. Wer das verkraften kann wird mit einem tollen Buch belohnt in dem es viel zu lesen und passend zum Thema Brille noch mehr zu sehen gibt.
