Review 9 out of 10. This is a must see. --Aberrant FilmsA knock out in the quiet sense. --Film and TV Now***. Like Sunday, Like Rain has perfect levels of chemistry between its leads and faith in its young performers. Meester, best known for Gossip Girl, is fantastic. Like Sunday, Like Rain scrutinizes class and wealth in an intimate and original way, making it as perceptive andsensitive as its two leads." --Vérité

The writer apparently believes that Jesus' name is a cuss word!
I was going to try to watch this movie, it was one of my last choices, but when I heard them using Jesus' name for a cuss word, I quit watching.Shame on the wicked writers that do such things. Christ says that we will be held accountable for every idle word...that at least means for all words, particularly those that take His name in vain.It doesn't deserve one star.

The boundaries between the 12 year old and an adult women should be more defined! Not acceptable
This could have been a good movie with 5 stars if it was clear that the adult defines healthy boundaries with this 12 year old boy. I could see how the 12 year old could have crush or love the girl because he is so love deprived by his own mother and other reasons, but there should be a clear "friendship" kind of relationship defined. Obviously, this was not always clear in the movie and even a kiss on lips at one point makes this movie sink from 5 stars to one star. It is NEVER ever ok for an adult to cross boundaries like that.

Beautiful & Touching Movie
Leighton Meester (Eleanor) & Julian Shatkin (Reggie) give incredibly strong performances in this lovely movie about lives that cross and the deep feelings that gradually develop as Eleanor and Reggie get to know one another on a human level through their life experiences during the time they share together. It is artfully done and the story arch is beautifully rendered. It is a powerful movie that touches on the cords of the heart in a simple and beautiful fashion. It is possible to talk in detail about various events in the movie though this would ruin the experience of getting to know the characters as their stories gradually unfold... so I will leave it here. It is a movie that I have enjoyed watching over again and one of the few I recommend without hesitation to my family, friends, and even clients.

Extraordinary film
This film doesn't miss a beat, doesn't hit one false note. The casting and acting are impeccable, and the soundtrack is brilliant. I was pulling for a resolved ending throughout, even though I knew there wouldn't be one. This film is lovely, it is real, and it demonstrates how love can come shining even in the loneliest of lives.

Highly recommend
If you're in the mood for a gentle, sweet, slice-of-life movie about two very different characters who find they have much in common, you will enjoy this film, as I did. Fans of Gossip Girl will recognize Leighton Meester as Eleanor in one of the starring roles as a character very much unlike Blair Waldorf. She is poor, working as a waitress, and finally gets fed up with her boyfriend's ill treatment of her and moves out. Unfortunately she doesn't really have anywhere to go, and when she calls her mother asking to come home for a few days, her mother (a real charmer) is less than welcoming.Eleanor happens upon a temporary job as nanny to Reggie, whose family is extremely rich, living in an incredible, huge mansion (especially for New York City). Reggie's mother leaves for China the day after Eleanor starts work and their regular housekeeper leaves shortly after for a long visit with her family. Reggie, who is extremely intelligent and a prodigy in numerous disciplines including math and music, is also quite intellectually and emotionally advanced for his age.The film follows the two of them, Eleanor and Reggie, as they spend the summer together. Not a lot happens. This is a character study and, as mentioned, a slice-of-life film. It is really nice to watch their relationship blossom and to see how they come to influence each other in positive ways. Highly recommend.

and a brilliant wealthy 12 year old boy who has taken charge ...
I first came across this movie on TV and was moved deeply with the story and relationship between both prime characters. In response, I bought 2 copies of the movie from Amazon. One copy for myself and one for my daughter who is away from home and is a registered nurse, and very sensitive. In the few weeks I have had the movie, I have watched it 7 times, and have never been so moved by a movie before. The story, the music, the relationship between principle characters that develops (a young girl/nanny out in the world on her own, and a brilliant wealthy 12 year old boy who has taken charge of his seemingly isolated life in a wealthy family household. The movie is beautiful from beginning to end, but the ending will melt any heart that can recognize the beauty and tenderness of love. I am 74, and am thankful for the inspiration and joy this movie provided . A must for all who love life, and its moments, beauty and forms of expression. An unforgettable experience.

Incredibly bad movie
Couldn't finish it, despite all my efforts. Unbelievably cheesy writing, filming, acting. And some parts purely creepy/pervy – what is it with that sooo looong shot of the boy half naked in the bathtub?!! And the young women half "dressed" taking those seductive positions in front of the boy? Abnormal and wrong.

Beautiful Movie
Leighton Meester and Julian Shatkin are both amazing in this film. The relationship and understanding of each other they gradually develop is extraordinary. The way music brings them together in the end is a perfect ending. If you are a musician, the music in this movie will deeply touch your heart, as it did for me. I've also seen Leighton Meester two times in concert. I feel like whether she is acting or singing her own songs, she somehow always has this unspoken, gravitating power full of empathy and kindness that sets her apart. And this movie is no exception. This movie is beautiful, watch it :)

Works in Canada!
I think this was a very well copied disk. But they printed the label and the cover for the case. Bluray worked great on my Canadian ps4 with just one teeny glitch for a half a second that didn’t at all matter. Very happy with purchase :)
