This is a pretty straightforward product. It only does one thing, and it does it well. I found that it felt loose when I first screwed it into the socket, and then screwed in my light bulb. So all I did was screw in the light bulb to this extender, and then screw it into the socket, and it worked fine.If I had to gripe, it didn't point straight down in my sockets (which are commercial grade), but with some light bending, it went back into shape.

Used these to replace 55W food lights in theater room with 8W standard LED lights. The room used to be rather dim but now, you can read all the divd and bluray titles in the wall racks when the new lights are on! Just remember that this extender is only for use with LED or low power fluorescent lights, not tungsten or halogen lights!

This is a good looking extender that looks exactly like the photos. I bought them to cannibalize for a custom lamp project I'm working on. As I was tearing one apart, I thought it a good thing that it was quite a chore. Then I got inside and my opinion changed in a hurry. The wire inside is way below my comfort level to be plugged into mains power in my house.After stripping a section, I twisted the stranded conductors and mic'd the bundle as 0.4 mm, which translates to 26 AWG on wire dimension charts. 26 AWG is rated for power transmission at a max amperage of .361. A 100-watt light bulb running on 120VAC pulls .8 amp, more than double what this wire should be used for. Way too flimsy for my comfort.

Great product, really works well. I wish they had a 5-6" solid extender.
