The Harper Hall Trilogy: Dragonsong; Dragonsinger; Dragondrums (Harper Hall of Pern)

In a previous incarnation, I served as young adult librarian for a large urban library system. The first book in the Harper Hall Trilogy was published just about the time I was hired. Dragon Song and the two sequels would become personal favorites of mine.47 years later I had the opportunity to rekindle my love for the series. The Harper Hall Trilogy serves as an offshoot of the Dragonriders of Pern series and can stand alone successfully. I found the three books aimed at a bit younger audience, to be my favorites.The trilogy came as a boxed set of three trade paperbacks and are a worthy addition to my collection. I am thrilled to be able to relive some of my favorite reads.

The books were what I ordered and came in a timely manner.

I know she's gone, but these books are some of the best sci-fi and can be read by children!!!

Loved these books when I was 13 loved them again as part of a larger reread of all the Pern books as an adult. Bought this set expecting nicer trade paperbacks vs the mass market ones received.

The stories were also my favorites, I need to get other Pern book sets. :) I'm going to get my son to read them next...

It is great (and very reasonable) to get the complete Harper Set as Hardbacks at such a reasonable price.

I read this and Dragon Rider's trilogy back when I was in middle school and LOVED IT. We bought this and Dragon Rider's Trilogy for our granddaughter, who LOVES Dragons. We are hoping she enjoys these as much as we did.

The book arrive on time. Book are of good quality, The Set of books were well package. This part of the series follows 3 main characters. Over all very pleased with the books.

I'm not sure how much these are now, but for some reason Amazon must have got the price of this hardback boxset wrong, and I picked them up for just under a dozen sovs.If you are looking at these, you are probably one of those people looking to either (a) replace your worn well-read copies, or (b) getting a copy of the books you read years ago and miss them terribly.Either way, this is a no-brainer. A hardback boxset, nicely presented, of probably the three best "Dragons on Pern" books you could read.Simply lovely - takes me back to a time when I was at boarding school, when the only way you could escape was through reading your favourite books, that felt like wrapping yourself in a warm blanket.Can't recommend enough...

Smaller than expected.Bought to replace old paperbacks.

These are books I read when they were first printed. To a degree they could be described as simplstic, but they describe a young persons climb through a difficult. constantly evolving, world. The three books are worth having just for one, almost inconsequntial, sentance. I'll leave it to other readers to decide which sentance that is.

A favourite set of books by Anne McCaffrey, read many times. However, this publication knows nothing about how both the dragons and fire-lizards are described. Ignore the illustrations on the box set and just let yourself be whisked away to Pern.
