Buyer beware seems like factory 2nds
It’s a full set and was wrapped in plastic however some have barcodes as single sold prismacolor. Others are beat up and look like they’ve been chewed, dropped or are factory seconds. The writing on the pencils is off on a lot of them too. I would definitely save my money and by the more expensive ones as these are clearly factory seconds and not normal stock. Very disappointed. They don’t blend like prismacolors at all either.

real Prismacolor but with possible issues
Quite a peculiar listing of the Prismacolor 150 pencil set that will range from $65-$150 USD.First off the title isn't quite right. The word "Prisma" is thrown there as an extra and it says "Premium" but not "Premier"... yet it's sold/shipped by Amazon. If you search up this set you get other listings with the correct full title and pencil count. However since this is shipped and sold by amazon I thought it was worth a try.Upon further inspection there are a few oddities to what I found inside this box.Pros:-comes in the authentic sturdy cardboard box with the magnetized butterfly cover, arrives shrink-wrapped, there are no misspellings or curious details on the box that stand out as fake-all pencils are stamped with MEXICO and I also saw no misspellings on the barrels-I own a few older Prismas from about 4 yrs. ago and while comparing both- these new pencils lay down with the same ultra smoothness and pigmentation you expect, the colors are exactly the same and even the metallics have the exact same sheen to them [pic]-I didn't experience cracked barrels or breakage while sharpening*I use a helical blade hand-cranked sharpener on a setting that isn't razor sharpCons:-there's about 6 pencils in each tray (6 trays total) that are terribly off-center, I would never buy these if I saw them in person because they look awful once you have them in your handgave some of these a sharpen and you're left with the issue of too much exposed lead on side which can whittle down your pencil much quicker and affect your usage*the rest of the pencils range from perfectly centered cores to slightly off-centered cores-the writing/stamping looks a little off, there was one pencil where the name was almost rubbed off and another pencil had a barcode stamped in the back as if meant to be sold individually [pic]-I found that this set was slightly thinner and lighter than my old set but i'm not sure if it's because of the age difference and thus the manufacturing has changed a bit or if it's a quality issue that landed them in this set, this isn't so much of a con but I thought it was worth mentioningOverall in my experiencefake Prismacolor: NO, people like to throw this word around with no backing like the top review herereal Prismacolor: YES, you can't knockoff the smooth laydown and pigment richness to this exact level. It's too precise.factory seconds: MAYBE, personally I think this set is mostly hobbled together by pencils that didn't quite reach a basic level of quality control. Whether it was due to weight, stamping, centering, etc.If people say they've received a perfect set then it might have just been luck of the draw or even down to whatever fulfillment center they came from.Overall buy with caution, wait for a good price (below $85), and temper expectations accordingly when purchasing from this listing.

the one I received is nearly perfect
bottom line: prisma is every bit as awesome as people have said it is and despite all the people who have had bad experiences ordering these I did get a set that was essentially perfect. despite the wonky title for this listing these are the standard Prisma Premier pencils.--------------------update: May 1st 2021 -- ultimately I bought 3 sets from this specific listing and all of the sets I received were perfect not factory seconds.--------------------I read all the negative reviews about people getting damaged pencils and such and it made me really hesitant to order this especially at this super low price. but I decided to take a gamble and put my faith in amazon returns if I didn't like it.I gave it a super close examination much more so than I would normally have done and the only thing I noticed is that some of the leads were not perfectly centered. but they weren't off enough to worry about and if I had not been examining it so closely I would not have even noticed.beyond that what I received was the prisma color goodness that people love and expect at least I assume so. some of the reviews said that the new pencils were not of the same quality as the older sets they have used. I am brand new to prisma colors so I have nothing to compare this to. what I can tell you is that I have been working my way through some drawing tutorials and many art teachers use prisma colors in their examples (I'm studying to be an artist), but at upwards of $200 they were much too expensive for me. then I happened to spot a set for $110 and thanks to my covid money decided I could afford it.but then I made the mistake of loaning my set to my mom to try. she is an avid coloring book fan. she has 3 other sets of pencils (different brands) but she totally fell in love with prisma and said it was the best! the softness of the pencils makes them go on smoothly and blend well. she then said she would love to have a set for christmas.so I would say that is a pretty strong recommendation that prisma is as good as ever even if it might not be exactly the same as older versions. so when I saw this set for only $86 it was pretty much a no-brainer. christmas is a long way off but mom has a birthday coming soon. meanwhile I still need a set for myself too in fact at this price I should probably get 2 sets because it seems pretty certain that I am going to use them up.

Used pencils
Buyer beware. Buying art supplies on amazon is always risky, but this was even worse than I could’ve anticipated. I received used pencils, most of them sharpened already, many of them inches shorter than new, and spilling all over the box. It is like amazon didn’t even look at someone’s returned pencils and sent them out as new, not even bothering to seal the box. Given how fragile these are, I’m sure many will be broken with sharpening. Unfortunate. I got a refund.Update: When the price went down to $65 again, I rolled the dice and bought another set with my refund. This one came factory sealed and brand new. Pencils look great! I suppose I'd say it's worth the risk if the price goes down since in my experience amazon customer service is good.

Mine are the real deal!
I'm not sure why people are complaining these are fakes, unless they did not buy from Amazon but a 3rd party seller. Mine are the real deal, they are all in beautiful condition with centered leads, stamped with Mexico on them with the correct labels and everything. I'm thrilled I was able to get them at such a deal, they are wonderful pencils! Pigmented and soft, yes they will likely break the cores but they are known for that because they are so soft.
