Ba-Ba-B-B-Ba-Ba ORIGINAL RECORDINGS REMASTERED

Having owned other renditions of these tunes the folks at Jasmine have done a great job making these tunes sound like they were recorded yesterday. The awful stereo versions of the sixties (instruments on one ear, vocals on the other) have been replaced by great high fidelity versions, some with extra instrumentations added. Bucket T, Surfin' Hearse, and Popsicle could have been added to remain in the ba ba bomp sound but these are the Dore and Arwin versions that have been improved on ~ RECOMMENDED

Killer Sound quality, great booklet and some really rare tracks going back to when Jan's partner was Arnie and that had some early hits before Dean took Arnie's place. All their big hits are here as well.

Great set of original songs

This is a great CD that basically answers the question of Who Put The Bomp in the Bomp, Bomp, Bomp, Bomp! It was clearly JAN & DEAN! They even have a song on there to tell you all about it. This is a great compilation CD of Jan & Dean's early Rock 'n' Roll and Doo-Wop sounds, before they started releasing surf and car songs and altering their sound to be more like the Beach Boys. This is music they recorded on the Arwin, Dore, and Challenge record labels, as well as their earliest material from Liberty Records! This is an excellent CD with their early hits and lots of rare material. Lots of "bomps" and "dip didits" as well! There are many great songs on this collection, and the sound quality is excellent as well. My only complaint is that the recording of "Linda" that's included on this CD is not the original hit from 1963, but a re-recorded version done sometime in the 80's. It's a decent recording but seems somewhat out of place since every other song on this compilation is the ORIGINAL recording from the original label. I'd say they should have included the original hit version of "Linda" or simply not included the song at all. Other than that one minor point, I say this is a must for all Jan & Dean fans of anyone who enjoys the early days of rock & roll!
