Replacement motor works
This motor was required to replace ones in 20 year old bath fan setups. It's a lot easier than replacing the whole unit. I tried that on one (bad choice). It was an exact match for the existing motor, connector, shaft, and clockwise rotation. One of the 3 fans had a metal fan cage, the others were plastic and easy to remove from the motor shaft. The metal one had a hex screw retaining the cage, and needed a long handled 1/8" tool to loosen it. The old motors had stopped working after more than a decade, one after very little use. It has a sleeve bearing at the output. The rear bearing seems to be a plastic sleeve. The fan would not rotate, I believe due to gumming of the lube. Hopefully the lube used in this motor won't gum up any time soon. There are 2 lube tunnels which might be used to lube the bearings, but you have to take the fan out of the unit to access the motor. And to do so after the motor stops working may be too late. Who lubes their bath fan motors? All in all an easy replacement but the motor won't likely last any longer than the original.

Easy, bolt-in replacement
Easy, bolt-in replacement for a 25-year-old Fasco 7163-5235 that started to make some noise. The motor itself is a bit shorter and doesn't have any ventilation holes, which I'd consider an improvement over the old design (see pic). But the overall dimensions are identical and it's a super-easy fix. Disassembling the old unit was a bit of a challenge, but putting in the new motor and reassembly was a breeze. Not rating it a great value because it seems pretty expensive for a motor, but well worth it compared to the alternative of a full unit replacement.

Replaced Motor on Bath Fan
Bought to replace motor on Fasco 763 bathroom fan. Motor replacement was difficult. Access to 1/8" allen screw holding fan blades to motor shaft was tough due to difficult access and tightness of fastener. Used a little 3 on 1 oil on the screw and soon thereafter was able to break the hold. After replacement, there exists a rattling noise when the fan turns. Nothing appears to be interfering and it's not the the motor but I surmise that it is uneven balance of the blades on the motor shaft. I could take it apart again and reposition the fan blades on the shaft but I can live with it.

Easy retrofit to an old bathroom fan
This was a "close enough" replacement motor for a 30 year old bathroom fan. Slightly smaller and ever so slightly faster it's a plug and play. I matched up the three wire Molex plug and the rest fell in place. The motor arrived with slightly different performance ratings than advertised, but no worries since the three wire Molex plug seemed to be the decisive factor.Be prepared to have a long SAE Allen key to remove the fan shaft set screw. Also, a punch helps to persuade the old motor"s shaft to separate from the fan cage which you re-use.Make sure you make a mental note of the spacing between the fan cage and the motor to prevent binding when the cage rotates.Otherwise, a easy peasy solution to a potential major fix.

EXACT replacement for Fasco 7163-5235
This is the EXACT replacement for the Fasco 7163-5235. The Fasco website is SHAMELESSLY WRONG. I first ordered the D120, after getting that part number from the Fasco website (I entered "71635235" for the cross reference number. and got the D120 as the only result), and it's a very different motor. The D120 has 8 mounts instead of 2 (4 on each side), but more importantly, it has a narrower shaft (BTW: the amazon info for the D120 does not include the shaft diameter). The D120 also has 2 wires (i.e., no ground) and no connector. Clearly NOT the replacement that Fasco tells you! Pathetic. So, the D120 is on its way back, and this D1160 is now in the bathroom exhaust's housing, working like a charm! The rattling was driving everyone crazy so it's quite a relief to finally have the right replacement motor.

Prefect fit
Product arrived 5 days ahead of anticipated delivery date. Identical replacement including the plug. The picture shown doesn't show the two mounting studs on top of the motor, but they are indeed there, and are brass so humid air blowing past them won't corrode them as on the old motor. Nuts are not included, so save your nuts, or find 2 new 8-32 nuts.
