Easy to replace, recommend gloves
Electric heaters rarely fail. For some reason, TDP heat lamps have their heating elements fail, probably something to do with the low wattage which means the element wire is very thin and fragile. Glad these replacement elements are available. It takes about 20-30min to replace an element, and there are several screws and stacked parts, but just stay organized and patient and you'll be fine. Definitely wear disposable gloves when doing this work; the lamps typically use fiberglass insulation and you don't want to get that stuff on your skin at all, follow up with a damp paper towel to clean up your worksurface afterwards, too. TDP lamp was good as new when complete, and much cheaper than replacing the entire head.
