The Phoenix: A gripping crime thriller with killer twists and turns

Great book, unusual story, really enjoyed it. Would recommend.

Ella Praeger, an intelligent young woman, is contacted by the mysterious Gabriel, a member of 'The Group', following her grandmother's funeral. Persuaded to become a group agent, in order to harness her extraordinary abilities and to discover the secrets surrounding her parents demise, Ella soon finds herself in Greece, where danger lurks around every corner. But Ella is determined to find the answers she needs one way or another. Great book, slow to start, but persist and you will be rewarded. Would have preferred a full explanation near the end.

Sydney Sheldon never disappoints. This is a very good read, if a little slow to get into. Hard to put down. Late night again tonight as I try to beat sleep and finish the book!

I miss books written by Sidney Sheldon. This book however, written by Tilly Bagshawe is missing the pace. First quarter of the book is a bit boring. Although introducing the characters, their description s are very lengthy and repetitive. With boring details. The story pick up the pace eventually, but annoyingly ends abruptly. Overall good book , but missing Sheldon's flare.

Have read Sidney Sheldon in the past and Tilly Bagshaw writing under this name did not disappoint. However, I hope there's a sequel as there are a few unanswered questions. Would make a great film.

I enjoyed this book but it needs a sequel - so many unresolved issues!! Hope there are plans in the pipeline for Book 2- and quickly please!

Enjoyed the Phoenix very much.liked the quirky story line. Will there be a follow up story?do hope so especially now Ella and Gabriel got together at the very end!!

Leisure reading and because it is Sidney Sheldon, but this book has not transferred from my old iPad to this new one. Any suggestions please.

This is an outstanding novel by Sydney Sheldon, that I think you should try because you were definitely love it

Terrible excuse of a book. Bad stereotyping. Littered with lines such as "He let his eyes roam shamelessly around her ample assets" and this is one of the least offensive. Don't buy the book please.

Everything in Greece was unraveling faster than ball of yarn tossed from a clifftop, and Gabriel couldn't shake the sinking feeling that worse was yet to come......(p. 285).SidneySheldon books are synonymous to paradise for every thrill lover out there.And TillyBagshawe has continued his legacy marvellously. And this book didn't disappointed at all.Although I admit I suffered a minor set back when Ella's special powers were mentioned . A little sceptical about what the book has in store for me ,I read on & boy wasn't it an incredible adrenaline pumping rollercoaster ride.Also this book reminded me of another Sidney Sheldon novel ,'The Other Side Of Midnight ' as it too features Greece.The term 'Phoenix' has been coined literally as the main antagonist comes alive from the ruins of helicopter crash. And also it could relate to Ella as well as she too sheds her old awkward persona, & becomes a bold & confident woman.Ella is out to avenge her parent's murder. But has she killed the right person? Or has the veil of vengeance shrouded her ability to think rationally & hence making her a soft target for getting manipulated?In a nutshell ,the story just begins when you think its ending. Ella soon realises that her journey for revenge is far from over and it's only the beginning of unriddling of conspiracy & treachery going on for a long time.....So this book rather than answering , creates a whole new set of questions , which would be hopefully answered in the next installment of the book. Also the extent of Ella's power is vaguely explained.THEPHOENIX IS A MUST READ FOR ALL . EAGERLY WAITING TO GET MY HANDS ON THE NEXT INSTALLMENT OF THIS ONE .
