I would pay 100.00 for the reaction I received when my hubby opened the box. I purchased this for my 7 year old for a joke for Christmas. He and I like to joke around and play tricky jokes on one another. Well, I had to test the box out to be sure it wouldn't be TOO MUCH for my little guy so I tried it on my hubby (a little background info.... My hubby and I have been married for almost a decade and I have never EVER seen him startled by ANYTHING, he's mechanic and motorcycle enthusiast, his day job is an industrial building maintenance man for a huge fruit processing factory where he spends a quarter of the day inspecting vehicle sized fans on the roof of the building, the man fears VERY LITTLE to say the least). So, as I was saying I just wanted to be sure it was not too scary for my little guy lol i handed it to my hubby and said you have to see what I got our son for Christmas and I even said "its gonna be so funny" thinking that would be a hint something would happen when the box opened...NOPE! he slid the lid of the box back the black creepy spider popped up (exactly as the list indicates it should) the spider legs brushed my hubby's finger and in one swift motion he threw the spider (and the box) his face white as a ghost he said THERE'S A REALLY FRICKIN BIG SPIDER IN THERE!!! ooh my goodness I cracked up! he knew if he had thrown down a huge spider and there's no way I would still be standing there next to the box, heck I'd be on the table yelling for him to get the baseball bat!!! So he quickly realized he'd been pranked and joined in on the laughing. he told me to order a few more to give to a couple guys he works with as well. so that's what I'm doing but wanted to leave this review for anyone considering buying this JUST DO IT! It's totally worth the reaction. My son loved it but the reaction was more like what was that thing he didn't realize it was a spider because he closed the box so quickly after seeing it but totally awesome hes been joking everyone he can! It's sturdy, it didn't break when my hubby threw the giant spider to the floor lol! well made and great joke! You will not regret this purchase I promise!

I bought this as a joke gift but it is very cheaply made. The spider doesn't pop up fast enough and would get stuck when trying to slide the top closed. Not so good!

For the money, it's a good gag BUT it came with an Amazon sticker on the blank box that literally said "spider box" (see photo). Luckily, I sent it to myself first just in case, and my target is nearby, so I can remove the sticker and deliver it myself. If I had sent it directly though, they would have known something was up before even opening the box.

What can I say, it's funny seeing people's reaction and it gets them every time. It got my mother in law really good and she jumped out of her skin. Sometimes it's a little finicky when closing to get the spider back down in the box.

Kept it in its packaging to surprise a coworker. When it was opened the spider had came off. Very disappointed and not made at all with any care for the craft. I don't expect much anymore when stuff is from China. I seemed to remember that once Americans would make and sell here in our own country. Why doesn't Jeff B start a manufacturing plant with all his money here in the USA?
