Works great if you McGyver the fittings *pix and description*
This is a sturdy little workhorse. We have a 16,000 gal pool that needs to be drained every 2 or 3 years. Our previous sump was borrowed and never returned. This is a better unit anyway. The fitting that comes with this is an easy to screw in part but you will be hard pressed to find a hose that will fit onto it easily. This will fit a SUMP HOSE. Not a standard garden hose.We went to the hardware store with the black plastic part and McGyvered some parts to make it fit a standard garden hose. It is a 'step down' system and it works perfectly. If you want to really move the water: purchase the sump hose. That will fit directly over top of the fitting and it will suck the water out of there quicker than a *art in the wind.Don't attach this to a scrawny flexible 1/2" hose...it will take forever to drain. The motor on this will easily move the water quickly but it has to have the output hose to be able to handle it. Use a garden hose or a sump hose (around $30)There is a float attached to the top of the sump that you can use as the handle to lower or raise into the water.Once the handle is below the unit, it will shut off. There is no exterior on/off switch. There was also no instruction book that came with this. The cord is about 15' long so you will have to put it into a grounded extension cord. Plug it into a GFI if you can. This is going in water, folks. Be safe. The pump is quiet and happily chugs out water for as long as you leave it in. We had some sand, pollen, debris on the bottom of the pool and it sucked it up and out the hose like we slipped it a $20 in a back alley.Great unit but don't expect to use it straight out of the box. Buy the fittings you see in the pix while you wait for this to arrive. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.BTW, we had to shopvac the bottom of the pool to get the remaining water (was too flat for the sump to work on). We took the top of the shopvac off and submerged the sump into the vacuum base. I swear, I amaze myself with DIY solutions some days.Have fun sumping and pumping.

Very Powerful Pump!
The media could not be loaded. This pump worked great. It drained a 20,000 gallon pool in 7 hours. The GFCI plug it was plugged into tripped one time but that is because the extension cord plugs above water got wet. That means that previous reports of faulty units don’t apply to every one because of it had a short underwater it would trip the GFCI. I bought cheap 1.5” PVC pipe and used that instead of an expensive hose. Great value great product.

Works in severa positions
With an every year late season drought here in southern NY, I'd been looking for a small pump to use in a pool in the stream on my place to water plants. This one is great for that purpose. With a garden hose attached, I drop it into the muddy pool, and use the hose to water nearby shrubs and ferns. Handles that muddy water with ease. Even when tilted over onto its side, it puts out quite a stream from one hose length. I even hooked it up to three hoses to water a Dawn Redwood way out in the field. Not a great flow at that distance, but enough to let water sink into the hard ground, and that's just what I needed. Really pleased with this pump, and glad I got it.

Faulty unit: you can feel electricity in the water when the pump is placed in the water.
After doing research and comparison, I went with this unit because of the rating and reviews, here and internet. My first one come pretty fast, which is a plus. However, when I try to test it by submerging it into a plastic trash 32gal can filled with water, I got a small shock of electricity in the water when I turned the unit on and was testing the floater. Not very powerful, but strong enough for you to feel the electricity going through your fingers into your arm, making your arm feels lazy. Very dangerous, that the unit is so badly insolated. So far, I'm not very please with this brand, even if it was rated so high. I'm hoping it was a defective one, which I am returning it to exchange for another one. I will update when the second one arrived.

Works well, and quiet.
Rcvd and installed today in a backyard sump pump to prevent ground & rainwater from pooling in a low spot and move the water via garden hose out to the street about 100ft away. its works well, auto empties my sump basin (5gal lowes bucket under an NDS catch basin) quickly, and is quiet. The hardest part of the project was to adapt the provided hose connector to a garden hose, but Lowes had all the parts for under $6.00. Phase 2 will be to replace most of the garden hose w/buried 3/4" PVC pipe, and maybe connect them to a front yard sprinkler head rather than dumping the water on my street curb.

Good value, does a good job for the money.
This is a light to medium duty pump that does what I need it to in the price range that I want to stay in - especially for a proof of concept project. I have drainage issues with my back yard - with a heavy rain, I have a pond.I originally had it hooked up to a garden hose and I thought it did a pretty good job. After verifying that my sump hole was in a good spot, I hooked it up to a 1 1/2" PVC discharge line - WOAH NELLY!!!! My whole back yard was drained in about 8 minutes - I know that probably doesn't mean much to you, but it moved a lot of water really quickly. I was impressed.I will continue to use this pump until it wear out - then I will buy a more robust pump - but I am very happy with my purchase.

Works great
I was pleased with the purchase. This little unit is quiet and plenty of pumping power. I got it for a DIY water cooling sprayer system for my pool. Added some PVC to the output and now have plenty of water moving through the air. hoping it will last at least a few hot seasons. The pump alone will push a heavy 3/4 inch stream into the air about 10 feet.

Good Buy!
This pump was exactly what I needed for my application. This is not a sump pump. It doesn't have cut off switch.Works well, good suction, handy item to have around, I recommend.

I murdered this pump and it's still kicking!
When I say murdered,I went above and beyond the worse case scenarios that the manufacturer would have ever expected. I had bought a home with a pool abandoned for 5 years. It had to be skimmed with a 1 ton excavator. There was 3" of sludge at the bottom mixed with bits of shingles, half rotten roots, and god knows what else!I had rented a $2500 gas powered waste pump that clogged and almost blew up in less than 2 minutes so I didn't have high hopes for this. Amazingly I pumped it out to virtually empty without clogging once. I'd throw it 10 feet down into the darkest depths of the sludge and it would pump it up and out like it was nothing. Not only did it work virtually maintenance free, but not a single time did I have to pull it up to unclog it. I'm not the only one that was impressed. I did a series on tiktok about the pool reno and ended up referring Dozens of people to this link to buy it. 2 million views on pumping it out! If I can abuse it to this extent and it still works like the day it went in, anything you use it for will be fine. This is a great value!

The float is troublesome
2-star rating for the following reason. I put this in as a replacement for a pedestal sump pump. It is in a 22"x18" sump basin which is plenty of space for the float, HOWEVER the float does not seem to by buoyant enough, when the water flows into the sump pit the cord to the float seems to not be flexible enough to allow it to upright and engage the pump. I am worried it will fail in a storm. I have to trigger it by hand probably 80% of the time. I will come and check the sump and the water will be high, the float is un-obstructed but just sitting under the water level. I pulled this out and ordered a different one.The pump seems to be a quality to price, Mine was perfect and new conditions was delivered with adequate packaging. It runs good and is very silent. would probably be great for draining a ditch, pool or foundation footing. I would not put this in any sort of scenario where you rely on it to trigger on it's own

NOT A GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION - Cracked bottom plate. How do I get a replacement through Amazon?
Upon opening the box the plastic bottom plate cracked right where screws affix it.No sign in the paperwork, on the box or stamped on the pump itself, that the pump is CSA or UL Tested for safety in North America. Why is Amazon selling this product without this?No way getting replacement part. Hopefully the pump will work.

Although it is plastic, this makes it light and not as susceptible to rust.
I am a senior and it was light and easy for me to set up. I can use it in a bucket manually if I can't reach the sump or in the sump automatically ; mine is 1 HP and has enough power to transport through a garden hose from my basement through the upstairs and drain out when outside line is frozen I have used this only a few times so not sure how durable it will be over time but the plastic composition is an asset in my situation . Less susceptible to rust than metal counterparts and this was important to me since the level of moisture during spring and fall in this salt air Atlantic location can be corrosive. Price was significantly less than units available locally.

Amazing customer service! And it’s truly a powerful little pump
So like other customers I received a product that had a cracked base and had clearly been bashed around in the box. Initially disappointed I contacted the customer service for the product and they were so amazing and helpful! Sent a replacement that arrived a few days later and it was in perfect shape, installed it right away in my French drain!Note use the plastic clip on the side so the float doesn’t require the full extension however if you require a pump in a small space use a vertical float pump.Super happy and everything is still working about a month later. Will update in the fall with the fall rains. So far I highly recommend this sump pump!
