Yep. Metal. Pipe. Black. I'm reviewing it.
On all accounts, I can confirm this is a metal pipe, painted black with uneven coating and printing on the outside. It has threads. I'm not a plumber, but this looks to be what we need for a little hardware project. Yay!

Black, gummy crud caoted.
I was expecting the standard black pipe. Bought this to avoid a trip to the big box store for the same product but ultimately had to go there anyway to buy other pipe as this was unusable for my needs. This pipe came with a thick, rough, gummy coating of some material that apparently would never dry. It was cruddy . Three days in the hot sun and still not dry. Tried to remove the pasty coating with paint remover and MEK and sanding but to no avail. Gums up sandpaper. I gave it two stars as it is pipe. I've used a lot of "black pipe" but have never seen any like this!
