It's okay. it's not better than official paint.
The diffuser is nicer and allow the paint to flow even if the can is not upright. However, that's the only advantage over official paint. The mix is very volatile, for one. This means that everything around the area you spray will have a fine greyish layer of paint, even a few meters away. It's not visible by the naked eye, but the aftermath is, when the paint has landed everywhere. Pretty annoying. This doesn't happen with any other spray paint i've used so far - which are far less volatile.Once you figured that out and spray *very* far away from any kind of wall it's fine (at least 10 meters or much more if there's some wind). Note that I spray inside a cardboard which is closed for all sides except front. In all other aspects, it mostly matches other sprays which is fine, hence the 4 stars.

Great primer
Excellent primer. Applies to surface nice and thin. Definitely a great adhesive for paint. Be cautious of the mist. The paint was all over the place. I used it to primer a 1/10 Land Rover D110. Two cans was just enough to get the job done.I applied 3 light coats of primer then let dry overnight. The following day I sanded the primer with 2500 grit to smooth out any rough spots. I then applied about 2 coats of desired color and let dry for 24hrs. Lightly sand with 3500 grit then apply clear coat. I am pleased with the final product. Nice and smooth π

The primer seems to stick well and provide a nice black matte that allows you to see the details ...
I used this primer to prime several miniature figures. The primer seems to stick well and provide a nice black matte that allows you to see the details of the figure. Since I hold the figures by the base, I have noticed that my fingers have black specs on them from the primer wearing off. I also notice chips at the base where I was holding it. This was a bit disappointing, especially since those chips lead to more primer peeling off. I didn't think that I was holding the base too hard or anything. This was after 2 layers of primer and letting it dry for over a week. I have not noticed any other problems. From now on I will attach the figure to something else that I will hold instead.

P3 Black Primer FTW
P3 supplies are, for the most part, a favorite of mine when it comes to miniature painting. Their spray primer is no exception. If you follow the instructions given by P3 in their handy dandy DVD painting tutorial, you'll know that layers are required and patience is a must. If done properly, you'll have a token black mini in no time. Now, my one gripe about buying P3 schtuff from Amazon.com: Holy crikey!! It is soooo over priced. Take the mark up that the third party vendors are charging, then add the ridiculous shipping fees and you are getting the short end of the deal. Look around for this product, I'd recommend a hobby store that carries P3 supplies, but if you don't have one within close range, shop around online. This spray paint is worth $10. MAX. Including shipping and handling. Don't pay more, and preferably, pay less.

Great for models
I just started a Warhammer army and needed some black primer for my miniatures. I heard great things about P3, so I gave it a shot. I have used a couple other brands, but I like this for my own. It's really easy to use and doesn't take much to cover the model. I have found that more, lighter coats works best.

As good or better than GW, WAY better than Army Painter.
Excellent primer. Love the pressure sensitive tip for controlling flow. Dries nicely.Everyone that gets that gummy or tacky thing after a few days; shake the can more, apply less from a greater distance (9-12").Then tell Privateer, try and get a new can. Could easily be the vendor didn't store properly, let it get too cold or hot.

Disappointing
SUMMARY: Cannot recommend, especially for the price. It's a hassle to use and only provides mediocre results.First, this product does not work on vinyl. So, do not buy it for PVC or PVC-based products, like Reaper Bones miniatures. Second, the pigment loves to separate and spray out as a sticky dust that really messes up the surfaces. Test spray constantly and constantly shake the can while priming. I realize this is true for most primers and paints, but this P3 stuff is the worst I've seen by far. Lastly, I am not impressed with the bond this primer creates with other surfaces I've coated (wood, lead, pewter, other plastic). It does not wear well.

Best primer I've used.
This primer is very black and will stick to any miniature (plastic, metal, resin, etc.). Although it tends to fade through the base coat of paint. Could be the quality of the paints I use however.
