interesting world, ok execution
Has some potential for growth. Over all good story. At times it felt like the same words were over repeated, or themes over explained. The tension in the story dissipates quickly and often time with no explanation. I am curious to see if as the series goes on the writing adds depth!

Great book
I love CN Crawford’s books - the world building, story and characters are always amazing. I enjoy becoming immersed in this world, and love how she writes her heroes and heroines. Dark, brooding and deep while their counterparts and strong, sassy and driven. I enjoyed seeing Galvin grow, understand the relationship between the Elves and learning what really happened. Ali is fantastic and I am excited to see how this series continues!

A new world to dive into!
I really enjoyed this book and devoured it. I can't wait to see what is to come for Ali in the next book. There were lots of things in this book that I hope come to light in the next, like his mate!!! Marroc is cursed and literally drips shadows from his body. He's dark, broody, and yet he's a villain I wanted more of.Ali is dead set that she has to save the night elves and there's only one way to do so.. find Galin and kill him. Along the way she comes to learn that things aren't as simple as that and there is so much more to the stories she's been told. However, she is still dead set on she will be the north star and free her people from the caverns that they were sentenced to live in over one thousand years ago by high elves.

Intriguing. I am giving the start of the trilogy a 3.5.
Ok… so let me preface this with you have to go into this remembering that this is based off another story already written. It’s a slow burn… very slow. The adventure is fun and will pull you in. The middle of the book slowed down and stalled a bit but remember, she is setting us up for the “moment” and it’s based off another story. If you are going in expecting something fast paced and lots of romance you won’t get it. But that doesn’t mean the story is t good. You just have to realize it’s not a typical romance. Very “on brand” for CN.So if you are reading the reviews take them with a grain of salt.

Enemies, hidden identities and dark drama!!!
Oh man it's not often I get to read a wild, heart wrenching ride like this! It's written incredibly well, the story and theme was right up my alley! I binged this so hard- it's 1am. Time to get the next book started!

Great storytelling as usual but I wish there was more heat and less dead things
As usual, the authors delivered a great and well researched storyline. I must say I absolutely was disgusted by the MMC with the while wicked undead soul eating thing. BUT kudos to the authors for skillfully manipulating my emotions so that I was a lot less antagonistic and more than a little in like with Marroc by the end of the book. I do wish the book was less dark though. So much times spent on the nasty dead places and stuff was a bit too much for me. Not my thing though I’m sure that would be a draw for others. I also would have like more heat and romance. Otherwise overall, an entertaining read if you can stomach the gloomy deathness of it.

A deadly game led to this...
She found him in the oddest manner. She thinks she knows who he is. This is not true and will take her into the unknown. He may kill her and steal her soul.

Brilliant start to a new series.
really enjoyed this book and I am already impatient for the next one!Cursed Prince was a fantastic start to the trillogy.Strong heroines and scary hero's seem to be my thing at the moment and Cursed Prince came through big time.I literally read this in one day, I couldnt put it down! I loved the slow burn romance between Ali and Marroc, and the Norse mythology gods. I don't know much about Norse gods (outside of marvel films) so it was fun to read.I cannot wait for book two!

Fun and imaginative Norse mythology inspired fantasy romance!
A bit of a slow start but a very fun, imaginative and enjoyable fantasy romance and start to anew series.I think that this book definitely had itstrong points. Like how Norse mythology was woven and built into the world so effortlessly. It was a well thought out apocalyptic fantasy world, I really liked it when the two main characters went to different realms and we got to see more than just Midgard or Earth.I liked the conflict between the High Elves and Night Elves, I thought that was really interesting. I would have liked to have known more about what happened to all the Humans though. Most have ended up as draugr but I would like to know if any of them survived (I think it was hinted at that some did but I’m not sure).I liked Aly and Marroc and thought that they had good chemistry together. I liked that neither really trusted the other and that they both had hidden motives for working together. For the most part I liked both of the characters but I did feel like Marroc had a sudden shift as soon as he regained his voice. It felt kind of weird that all of a sudden he could talk after not being able to because of his curse. Hopefully in the next book I’ll be more used to it, it was just in this that it felt a bit weird. Especially as it was near to the end that he could talk again so I was so used to him not talking and just writing stuff down to talk to Aly.I am a big lover of Norse mythology and I always love reading books about Vikings and books that have Norse mythology in them. So I really enjoyed it for that aspect alone. Also I felt like you could really tell that the authors researched a lot for this book about the different myths, gods and creatures in Norse mythology.Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I’m looking forward to reading the sequel and seeing where the story goes and what the characters will do next.

A great new series.
So I stayed up until the early hours of the morning to finish this book (Only time I have been glad to have been furloughed). Absolutely loved it. The authors ability to create a different world using Norse mythology was superb. The main characters were well developed and I found myself empathising with both. I cannot wait for the next instalment.

Slow start
It took a couple of tries to get into, but by halfway I was pulled in, and ended the book wanting to know what happens next. Perseverance paid off this time.

Was just ok
This story was just ok. It was a retrieval story but I expected more about Marrock and Ali. It was a little complicated as he had been lying to her and there were certain items they needed to find. But then it all seemed pointless. Sadly won't be reading the next insalment.
