Great vegan protein! Really smooth and mixing well!
If you are looking for a clean, affordable vegan protein powder, buy this product. I’ve been using it for a while, and it definitely is a great value and great product. It has no artificial ingredients, sweeteners, coloring, or other ingredients, just 100% pure yellow peas sourced from Canada. There are other pure pea proteins that you could buy, but there really is a difference between this one and others because it is Hyperhyrdrolyzed, which basically means it is much smoother and less grainy than other pea proteins. For those of you who have tried other pea proteins or vegan proteins, you might remember the inconsistent consistency that is pretty normal in them. In this one, though, you get a lovely smooth texture!Really, this is a great source of protein for vegans, vegetarians, or anyone who wants to use a simple, pure, and clean protein powder! If you buy it, just know that the taste is pure pea protein, which means you’re probably going to want to blend it together with something that tastes a bit better. You can drink this on its own if you want, but it’s much better when blended with something like bananas and peanut butter.

Cheap. Clean. High Protein. Not gross. Win!
This stuff is great! I’ve been a health conscious fit vegan who exercises at least 3X a week for 5 years and I’ve been through all the different vegan protein powders. Some taste great and have a high protein count but also contain heavy metals. Some are fancy and organic whole food based but super expensive. I had settled on another brand of unflavored organic pea protein because of its low cost and high purity but it tasted horrible. This stuff is cheaper than most powders, has a high protein count, is all organic, blends great and tastes okay! It’s not the yummiest thing I’ve ever tried - as it’s unflavored pea protein - but it blends into whatever it’s in without ruining it. If you're in a hurry and you do need to just blend it with just water or plant milk it is still drinkable. If you’re mixing it w/plant milk just throw some cinnamon and a banana and maybe some berries or spinach in there and you’re good to go! A win win all around. This is my new go to vegan protein.

Weird taste
Pretty good but let’s be honest, it does have a flavor. It can def be masked with a strong other ingredient, like chocolate. However, if you’re making a smoothie, don’t do more than 1 scoop. It will taste weird. Also, mine didn’t come with a scoop? I put my own

Great value, good taste
For the price, this is a great buy! I hate anything artificially sweetened, and this goes great in keto foods like chia pudding, or on my carb days it's great in fruit smoothies. I'm definitely going to keep buying this

Great source of protein, flavor could be better
I tried this protein powder and I think it is a great source of protein, coming in at 27 grams per serving. Normally for my protein powders I'll get around 15-20 grams, so I think that's a great plus. I love that it is also made out of pea protein rather than soy-based. I will say, the flavor however isn't the greatest - this can definitely be improved. I made a smoothie with this a few times, and unless I added a banana to add some sweetness did it taste better. The first time I made a smoothie without a banana it just didn't taste good. I think this is the biggest downside of the product - however the neutral taste does allow it to be a flexible ingredient for other recipes. As long as you flavor it to your tasting I think it's still a good product.

Do NOT mix with fats
I've been a fan of soy isolate for a while and mixing that with Soy Silk is perfect because they're made from the same protein powder. So when I got HydroPea, I decided to test it with several liquids including the Almond and Cashew Silk (made with pea protein). From numerous tests, the WORST thing you can mix this powder with is a fatty liquid like milk or Silk - it clumps hard. Shaking vigorously with a mixing bottle is not enough to put the powder into suspension. I had to pull out a blender to get just powder and liquid to mix. Even then, it left a disgusting flavor on my tongue and the grittiness left me gagging by the end of a 500mL, two-scoop shake. It's even disgusting in oatmeal. Sugar alone was not enough to disguise the aftertaste - I had to dump in a tablespoon of cinnamon and a teaspoon of clove. In non-fatty non-acidic liquids like apple juice it's got the same taste, but is slightly easier to choke down. Dissolves much easier, too. Doesn't make you want to hurl, but it's not pleasant. Basically, in order to gag this down you need a ton of sugars/carbs to cover up the gross lingering flavor. Which defeats the purpose.I won't be buying this product again.

Great Pea Protein
This pea protein mixes well and is unflavored. Canadian pees too! Also nice that the tub is completely full, not like other companies that are mostly half full.
