Used on pre-drilled door NO PROBLEM!
I was hesitant to buy this knob because of the reviews stating it was practically unusable if you had a door that had a pre-drilled hole. I wanted to use it to replace a tacky brass knob on my daughters closet door (door is original to our house from the 40’s). I’m not sure what everyone else’s problem was because there was absolutely no problem for my husband to install it. He didn’t need to add any pieces or re-drill anything. All he did was install the knob so the screws lined up vertical on the door rather than horizontal. Easy-peasy. Looks great & works great!

Easy and quick to install on a new door without a pre-existing hole
Easy to install on a new door without a hole but I am not 100% sure how easy it would be to install on a door with an existing standard-sized hole. We used a 7/8" drill bit (a 1" would have been easier but we saved money by using what we had and just moved the bit around a little to increase the hole size ever so slightly) and it installed like a dream. However, there is an adjustment screw that allows the center rod to go farther into or out of the knob part so look for that and adjust as necessary; the center rod that comes is the standard-length and should fit almost all doors. Piece of cake and beautiful.

Honest Review: Worth the Money
I'm a carpenter, I just installed six of these. These door knobs are for older, mid 1900s style retrofits, not modern style doors with larger hardware cutouts. Any of these reviewers slamming this product because they didn't fit their modern doors needs to pay more attention to what they're buying. That being said, this product is good. Not great, but good, if you use this doorknob with the proper cutout door. They are only $15 each, after all. Only thing bad about this product is the design of doorknobs of this style overall. The knob tends to wiggle a bit, it's not tight. If you install it tight, then the latch mechanism doesn't spring out nice, only under ideal circumstances. But this is not a bad product overall.

Cheap garbage
Had these on almost every interior door in our house for about 4 years. Got them when they were about $6 each, they are not worth it. Had to get screws from the hardware store to install them and make them fit. Even after that they were loose. The metal they are made from is the cheapest stuff from china and they feel cheap. They don't feel solid at all. The knobs stripped off all of them eventually because of the cheap threading. No locks on them so they are not suitable on bedrooms and bathrooms. I have been meaning to replace them for the last few years finally got around to it. Do yourself a favor and get something that is a little more expensive and sturdier and don't waste your money on these cheap ones, you will thank yourself later.

Not for modern door holes, weird center reflector
I ran into two issues, one of which was resolved when I called the company. They do not accept returns on opened products, but they did send a replacement part that was not functioning properly after opening. The second issue is that the plate that covers the door hole opening is not wide enough (the screws go into the hole, not the door). When I called they suggested I purchase the updated plate size (about $6.50 per door). I would not suggest purchasing this product, instead buy the updated model number 1141-SN which is made for modern doors. I had to chisel the side plate to fit a rectangle shape as well. Also, for anyone who cares there is a cheesy looking rainbow-colored reflector in the center of the knob not well pictured. I don't mind it too much but I don't think everyone would prefer it.Overall I'm satisfied that I got glass door handles for a decent price.

People, read the description! This is a 2 3/8 lock set!
With regards to the negative reviews about the lockset no fitting, this is a short lockset with a 2-3/8" backset. That's the measurement from the flat edge of the door to the center of the handle. Many doors are 2-3/4". Measure your door before purchasing.I replaced my old knob in less than 5 mins.I'm only giving it 4 stars because the screws that hold the escutcheons, the large round plates that go up against the door on both sides, do not pass through the lockset as most knob sets do. They instead screw into the door with wood screws. Not a very good design but explains why its so cheap.Otherwise the new locksets are an excellent replacement in my 100 years old house nearly matching the original handles in my house.

May need modifications
Looks good and install is easy. It doesn’t full install on standard door holes without modifications. The fasteners for the knob escutcheon are wood screws. I had to glue in “half moon” pieces to the rim of the hole circumference for the screws to grab to.

Center spindle not adjustable way too long.
It doesn’t fit my door. But of course I couldn’t have known that without trying to install it first right?! Super unimpressed as it was the final touch to a princess room and now I don’t know what I’m going to do with this useless door knob. The spindle in the middle is way too long to accommodate the standard doors in my house. Now I have a sad 7 year old and a useless door knob. Maybe I’ll turn them into paper weights. 🤷🏻♀️

Had to use different screws (not supplied) to make it work for all door hole sizes
Tricky to make them fit on doors with large holes already drilled. Works fine for small holes. Company needs to send female screws that extend through the large door holes. Wood screws not good in this case. Other than that, they work fine.
