Love it!
I hate to crawl into a cold bed! I found a small electric blanket on Craig's List for $10 for my sofa and fell in love with it. Found this to be the best rated and best priced electric blanket in a queen size! When I first plugged it in I thought I broke it, there was a snap sound and I thought I pushed one of the pins in. There are 4 pins and one looked shorter than the others. Called the Sunbeam hotline and the lady said that was normal the first time you plug it in. Was still a little nervous but it works great and I have no problems. I like it on high, sometimes I'll go down to about 5 or six but not any lower. I like it warm.I turn mine on about 30 minutes before I go to bed so the bed is not cold. It does not heat up the whole bed but the sheets are not cold they are more like room temp or body temp when you get in which is way better than cold sheets! Love the fact that I have a dual control so my husband can have his on lower than mine if he wants. It is soft and feels like fleece. It's very thin but not in a bad way, it works great. I love the color very much!Hope it lasts a long time!

Happy with it
I have been sleeping under electric blankets for 50 years, and this is one of the better ones I've gotten. Which is amazing considering how good the price was. The controls are easy to use even in the dark. You can't push the wrong button because there is only one button - on and off. The amount of heat is controlled with a dial. And there is enough light to see the button to turn it off in the middle of the night. It is easy to find the button, the only button, in the dark as well. And enough light, but not too much, to change the setting in the middle of the night. But because the setting doesn't change every time you turn the blanket off, you are unlikely to need to do that once you find the setting you like. The blanket is heavy enough to sleep under, during a black out, without the electric part of the blanket. I just did that for 6 days because of Sandy. Why is that important to someone who will be using the heat? Because my experience has taught me that a blanket that can stand on its own will provide very even heat when it is turned on and you need even heat. Some people complained that they could feel the wires in the blanket. This is true. It is also true of every other electric blanket I've had over the last 50 years. Some people complained that the blanket wasn't perfectly soft. This is also true. I use a duvet cover, but if you use a top sheet you will have similar experiences to mine. Because it wasn't perfectly soft, it also wasn't slippery. It stayed where it was supposed to stay inside the duvet cover. I expect it stays where it is supposed to stay with a top sheet too. I consider that a plus.

Did not work at first, but working great now!
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my wife - who is always cold. She had been using a space heater, and I thought this would be more comfortable and efficient (and I could stop having a space heater blowing on me in bed, as I am NOT always cold). At first, we were both disappointed, as it did not seem to heat up much, and then not at all. After about a week (maybe less), we were ready to return it, and start over...but it started working. It has continued working daily without an issue. By 'working', I mean that it warms up quickly, stays very warm, even after a great deal of use. When my wife is not using it, my daughter takes it over, so it is dragged around to different rooms a lot, and gets plenty of use.So given that it ended up working out it's issues by itself (likely there was some sort of connection issue, not sure how it self resolved), I have to give it full stars, and recommend it. By the way, I chose the 'dark brown color', and it looks nice.

good basic heated blanket, 10 hour shutoff
A soft, warming blanket with a plenty-long cord. It uses the classic Sunbeam dial-style control, but has a mandatory 10-hour auto-shutoff. Depending on how you use this blanket, you can get away with buying a smaller (cheaper) size than you would in a normal blanket. The material is reasonably soft and no longer looks like a discount baby blanket (like older Sunbeams did), but the blanket still has visible lines from its wiring. Rather than expecting the blanket to look pretty, I just sandwich it between more traditional bedding. That also keeps it clean; the wash/dry process shortens these blankets' lifespan and should be avoided.Heated blankets aren't supposed to be intensely warm (they're not heating pads), but provide a gradual, manageable warmth. At setting 4, sandwiched between two fleece blankets, the Sunbeam warms the underlying bed quite nicely for the Maryland mid-Atlantic winter. I rarely go past setting five even on the coldest nights (although I also don't make my house frigid).Since your other blankets would be covering you anyway, the heated blanket doesn't need to be as large as a regular blanket (no need for the extra material off to the sides or to allow room for the bodies underneath). That means you can buy a smaller heated blanket than you would for a traditional blanket. Eg, a "full" will mostly cover the top of a queen mattress. One unwelcome change is the 10-hour shutoff. Sunbeam informs me that some of their other products allow variable shutoff times, but none go longer than 10 hours (and this one doesn't go shorter than 10 hours). That's non-optimal for me. I use the blanket to warm the bed for my cats during the day, and then have the bed warm for when I go to sleep (I switch the blanket off before bed). Ten hours means I have to remember to turn the blanket back on at least once a day (but not at a predictable 12-hour interval). Shorter shutoff settings would also be useful for people who sleep under the blanket. The ten-hour cutoff seems arbitrary and not very useful. I dock one star from my rating for this issue. This blanket replaced one of my old Sunbeam "Royal Nights" heated blankets, which had gradually stopped heating up enough. It's unclear if the control unit was failing, or if the wiring breaks down over time with extended heating (or repeated washing), but I did get a number of years of heavy use of that one. The biggest change is that the old blankets stayed on indefinitely once switched on, while the new ones have the auto-shutoff. The blanket material is nicer now, also. But somehow "Heated Blanket BSF9GFS-R470-13A00" doesn't roll off the tongue in the same way...Heated blankets are a great way to pre-warm your bed, lower your thermostat setting (savings!) without feeling chilly, or just cozy up during winter weather. Sunbeam continues to be my go-to for heating products with this blanket. Recommended.

Good fit.
I prefer it under the mattress cover so purchased a "full" size for a queen size bed and it fits perfect.
