BM12044 Summer Silk Filled Comforter Cal King Size, King/California King, Ivory

I love my silk comforter. Yes, silk is hypoallergenic, regulates temperature, and wicks away moisture. Now I'm so spoiled, down isn't good enough any more! The comforter is very well constructed, with solid stitching and sewn through circles to prevent shifting. The cover is quality fabric, and the corners have loops to attach the comforter to the duvet. For me, it's a bit too warm for > 72F but it's absolutely heavenly below that.I was scared by the lack of reviews, but I checked on the manufacturer and they seemed to be a legit, American company.As a plus, the comforter had only a faint smell of new fabric and lovely silk. I'm sensitive to chemicals, so I had to send back other comforters that had a nasty chemical smell (thank you Amazon!). But this comforter aired out nicely and has absolutely no smell at all now. I keep it in a dust mite resistant duvet and then put a second decorative, washable duvet on it. Looks fabulous.

Nice insert but we were just as hot using this as our old one

I'm always hot, and nightime is no exception to that. I bought this comforter to replace a polyester blend piece of garbage that had me so hot at night that I couldn't sleep with it on (I slept without it 90% of the time). I bought this to solve this problem, and am surprised to report that it did. This is so much cooler than the poly blend or cotton comforters, and I was happy to pay a little extra for the quality. It comes in a nice zippered travel case for those of you who need one.Make sure you follow the manufacurers instructions regarding cleaning. This is silk and will fall apart if you're crazy enough to put it in the wash. Dry cleaning will also ruin it. Don't clean it. Just put it in a duvet cover and clean that as necessary. Very pleased with this purchase.

I chose this comforter after returning a really bad one to Amazon. Very glad to pay a bit more for quality. It's packaged nicely in a zippered case with complete instructions for care on a card inside. The silk smell was very faint. Not at all offensive. It's as light as a feather, but still warm enough for my coastal California 65 degree room with open windows. It's finished with nice cording on the edges and has a beautiful soft cotton shell. Don't wash or dry clean this. Put it in a duvet cover and spot clean when necessary. I expect this will last for years. This is definitely a keeper.
